Hello from Atlanta
Hi, we are a biking family. Husband, daughter, and I all ride. I have had a Honda CM200, Yamaha XT225, Ducati Monster 620ie, and now a new 2009 Ninjette and Honda Silver Wing. Only 527 miles on the Ninjette so far but already know that this is a fun bike. Christine.

Welcome Christine! It's great to have you here... I assume when you say Silverwing you mean the scooter and not the real Silverwing that was the baby 'wing?

no name Ninja and named scoot
Thank you for all the friendly posts. I have not named the Ninja. I named the Silverwing Scooter Smokey 2. My husband thinks I should buy a Icon Speed Cretin helmet and call the Ninja Cretin 2.

Thanks and my soap box.
I am very pleased at the response to my tech question posted on another thread and the friendly welcomes. I would like to take this opportunity to suggest that all new owners try to take an MSF course, or another safety course. I have taken some courses every year since - well a long long time ago. Taking the courses helps you remember to practice skills. Also, getting some decent gear is another thing that one needs and put it on. Today with my daughter I read of an Army guy who died on his sport bike the day he got his learner permit - he had no training. Last year my husband saw 3 crashes on public roads two in India and one when riding with me as pillion on Cherahala Highway. I saw one in the North Georgia Mountains last year, guy had a brand new Ducati and was on his first ride. Please learn and practice no matter how good you are! Have fun, Christine

When I rode my new '08 through Atlanta on my way home to Newnan, GA from West Virginia where I had just bought it I passed an accident where someone had obviously died on his sportbike. Very sobering.
A year and a half, 12,600+ miles, and a cross-country ride later, and I still think about it often. Luckily I haven't even dropped it yet, but this thought keeps me from taking too many risks. |

Interstates of Atlana
Thanks for the posting. I ride the interstates of Atlanta and sadly see a few motorcylce accidents. However, the view from the bike is so much better than a car - no blindspots. Although one is more vulnerable on a motorcycle, at least we have advantages including being able to see more. Good luck in your motorcycling.
