If you race and you are in or near Tn - HELP ME!

Me and my buddy were talking earlier this week about after some track days, we'd like to start racing on a novice level, that it would be fun. But we were researching it and it seems like a catch 22- you have to be a club member to race, but you must have race experience to be a club member. of course. If any of you could PM me with info, or enlighten us on how to get our feet in the door, please take the time!

Whered you go for track days? I'd love to do one, but the only one I've found is Nashville (which is closing) and atlanta.

Most race organizations require you to go through a New Racers School which is usually held in conjunction with a track day. Contact the race organization you wish to race with and ask them what their requirements are.

TN's tracks that do sportbikes from what I found is just Nashville super speedway, which is closing (if not closed already). I haven't found anything open as of yet thats not just a pure dirt or 1/4 mile track...there is promise of track called I-75 raceway or so near sweetwater, TN, but it's only dirt at this point, believe he is working on getting the full track paved, but not sure when it might be open.

If you find a track around us, plz let me know.

Virginia International Raceway(VIR) Danville, VA; Barber Motorsports Park just east of Birmingham, AL in Leeds, AL; Road Atlanta Brasselton, GA

All might be a little bit of a drive, but well worth it.

WERA will be at Nashville Super Speedway September 24-25 and will be holding a new rider school on Saturday. Sign up, take the school, do the mock race on Saturday then register and race as a provisional novice on Sunday. Too easy.

Running that weekend will probably get you an invite to the GNF (Grand National Finals) at Road Atlanta in October as well.

I didnt change my mind, I wanted to go. I work in a small business and two of the employees got really sick at the same time. Me and my bud at work that were thinking of going ended up covering most of their shifts and we didn't want to go if we couldn't do it together. Ya know, we took the msf at the same time, got our bikes on different weeks but didnt ride till we both had one, we always cruise together, and we wanted to do race as a team as well but I'll find more races, Ill add you on here though and if there is any more around here I'll hit you up, or if you know of any more races sometime let me know

Darn. I wish I had seen this post a week ago.

www.mcraracing.com - check us out. We are St. Louis MC club that puts on races/track days. Its club racing - great for getting into the sport. We just ran a race license school and races at Putnam Raceway in IN. Will do 2 dates there next year, 2 dates at GIR in St. Louis, and 2 dates in Kansas. KS is kinda far from you but the others are not. - VE

I just did Putnam race school literally 2 days ago. It does not get any easier than with the MCRA gents. They even spaced the class out so I didn't miss my track sessions.

Good luck in your future races!
