What type/brand of oil, etc., should we stock up on?
We're perfectly willing to run around and do some shopping to prep for this thing. Hopefully minimize the necessity of people schlepping everything they need all the way to Indio, or wasting time running around on Tech Day trying to find stuff. We'll figure out the costs, etc., as needed.

I dont need an oil change but the ninjetters seem to like Mobil 1? Filters would be needed too. Chain lube and cleaner? I'll bring my cans if I have room after I pack up the rest of my junk. Maybe have some WD-40 and zip ties laying around? Those are the basic things I can think of...

Crissy and I are planning on a shopping trip to Chaparral during the week before Tech Day. So, basically, since they've got almost everything, at some of the best prices, we're thinking of getting everyone's supplies added to the shopping list, so that the goods are already here waiting for everyone when they arrive for Tech Day. (Not a requirement, just a suggestion to make things more convenient. ) Max, since you're not changing your oil, then I don't need to worry about getting any oil or filters for you, right? For the folks that are changing their oil, what brand(s) of oil and/or filter do you want? I personally keep the Maxima chain wax on hand, but I know that some prefer other brand(s) of chain lube. Since chain lube is used just a little at a time, I think we've got no problem keeping a selection of the favorites available. What brands of chain lube do y'all use? Please PM your shopping lists to me or Crissy/ManyCavies. We'll get separate receipts for everyone to keep things simple.

Hey, KJ, do you think you could pick me up any brand of chain lube? I'd prefer the kind that isn't white and foamy when sprayed on the chain.

I was thinking about dropping a couple things off to get powdercoated and picking it up on the way home. Let me know |

Never mind. Changed my mind. I might end up buying myself a can before coming out for Tech Day.
BTW, what was I referencing to was a chain lube that Adrian had at his house. It wasn't white foam when sprayed, just seemed like WD-40, except it was actually lubricant.

I'm throwing this out there one more time just in case some folks are tuning in late.
Crissy and I are hosting a Tech Day in Indio this weekend, Oct. 22nd and 23rd. We'll be "Open for business" on both days, so if you can only make it on one day but not the other, or if your project is too big for one day ... We just want to know who's planning what, etc. You don't even have to do anything, just come on by and hang out!! If you need our address, or have any other questions, please post or PM me or Crissy(ManyCavies). (I'm pretty sure that either Crissy or I have responded to all of the address requests that have been posted so far!)

You have to disconnect the headlights, which a (poorly) trained monkey could do, and the turn signals too to completely remove the fairings. Just remember to take the sides off first and when you take the bolts off the front keep a hand under the front cowl so it doesn't just fall down when there's nothing to hold it there anymore. Not really that big of a problem though.
