Greetings from San Diego

Hello All!

This forum has helped me out from becoming a completely green newbie to a somewhat decent rider. (strong enough to take on the ride to Julian)

Also looking for some good routes in San Diego and good company to ride with as well.

A ride to Julian would be fun as soon as you got off the 8 I would imagine

the fun ride to julian is from I-15 exit pomorado, take highland valley road to the 67 up into julian, then taking the route north to the 79 through mesa grande and up through palomar mountain. about the best sets of twists you can find without a price tag

There are lot of great routes out there but be careful, there are some really tight turns. If it is your first time on the road, take it SLOW. Even if it isn't your first time on the road, take it slow because sometimes there's rocks, sand, etc on the road. Unfortunately, I speak from first hand experience

Sounds grand! I'll have to pick up some more miles on the pavement so I don't drag too far behind
