Replaced the 250 with...

Well, as you guys know, I lowsided the 250 a few weeks ago. The lowside bent the frame and it was totalled. So last Saturday I went out to Cocoa and got a replacement bike. Also had to get a new helmet, obviously, so I'll start with pics of that while I go out and take pics of the new bike.

Chrome visor front

Dark Smoke visor, side (side without the visor's rash )

Don't worry, I'm not pulling a full on @nickjpass I just want to be sure I'm posting nice pictures of the bike, not half arsed ones.

And some pics. Not the greatest, but I'll be going out later, hopefully I'll find someplace nice to snap some pics while I'm out riding.

It rides really nicely. I sat on all the different 600s, different years for each of them too; and the 07+ CBR just fit me like a glove. Brakes are great, suspension is amazing, the power is mind blowing. I am loving this bike so much. And I can say that toping out first gear get you to about 80mph.

With a passenger, it's still quicker accelerating than the 250 with one light-weight person...

It makes you wonder how some people make decisions, doesn't it?

I don't get it, either. If someone lowsides a 250, why would they think a 600 is somehow ok as a replacement?

Do you know Eric personally? Kinda crazy how you can judge a guys riding based off one low side. I have ridden with him many times, and he is just as ready as anyone else to make the step up. Crazy, but some people actually start on 600s, and are fine. He had 6k miles on 250 before upgrading...</endrant>

Also the bike looks better in person. Hopefully next time we go for a ride, you will be more used to the cbr, so you can keep up in the turns! And I will take up your offer to switch bikes during a ride one of these days. I really would like to see how the riding position feels compared the the zx.

Thanks, and no, this is not goodbye. I will continue to hang around Ninjette and leave snarky, sarcastic comments here and there. And sometimes even throw in some words of wisdom, opinions, and knowledge.

Thanks Rob. It's a bit funny how quick to judge people are. I'm pretty sure people would never to up to Rossi after a crash and go "Hey, you're not good enough to handle a 600, get back down on a 250."

The more I ride it, the more I'm getting used to how it handles and such. I'm sure by the next time we ride I'll be able to keep up, since we only ride maybe once every 2 months... though I do have 3 days weekends this month for school, so maybe we can fit some more rides in.

people judge you based on how you crashed and the way you talk about it. not simply that you crashed. there are many different ways of crashing.

Yes and most of them involve an operator error. He figured out what he did, and learned from it.....

^ coming from someone who traded in their 250 after 2 weeks of riding to get a 650, then decided on a SS. Your not the best person for advise on this subject...

And a lowside (as stated) is operator error. I don't know why going to a less forgiving bike would be the logical thing to do...

And Eric, I haven't personally ridden with you so I have no first hand experience. Just be safe, and keep the shiny side up

And this is the reason why I don't bother with this site much anymore. I figured you would be one of the cooler ones, but I guess not. And really, you went for a 250 to zx-14....What makes you "qualified" to give any advice? Instead of hate on Eric, and I guess now me, just don't reply to a post. IIRC, he has actually owned quite a few bikes prior to the Ninjette and the Ninj14...

Bur needless to say, the bike looks amazing. Have to say I'm a little jealous, but I'm saving my shiny pennies to get me an SV soon Stay safe, them 600's are not forgiving in any way, shape, or form!

Did u buy your 250 back salvage ?! Woulda made a fun track bike ! Or sell me any good parts off the carcass lol .

The Honda is sharp ! Razor sharp , I love the newer 600s . I haven't rode a Honda since I sold the 94 900rr . That was too much bike for my comfort at the time .

You defiantly have a decent bike to grow into now ! Not getting bored anytime soon will you?
