Hopeful new owner
So hopefully I will be the new owner of a ninja 250 by the end of the month. I am still waiting on financing paperwork, with the unseasonably warm weather the motorcycle dealers have just got flooded and it has backed up the banks a bit.
The dealership only has red ones and I honestly dont want to pay $300 extra dollars for a kawi not in green. It was a toss up between this and the tri color Honda CBR250r however the dealerships have been the deciding factor. The kawi dealer was inviting, even being busy, and always tried to make things go as smoothly as possible. Where as the Honda dealer had the attitude of "its busy so just deal with it." I also worry about the first maintenance with the Honda as the guys just seem so clueless about the bike. Oh forgot to mention, new rider, take first MSF course available for me in mid April. Edit - Here is my new baby. By mlecl0001 at 2012-04-02 By mlecl0001 at 2012-04-02 And the damage done when she tipped in the trailer By mlecl0001 at 2012-04-02 I got lucky, it could have been worse. You cant even tell that much from a little farther away. By mlecl0001 at 2012-04-02 Last futzed with by MLecl0001; April 2nd, 2012 at 05:37 PM. |

Good choice on the Ninja over the CBR. I find the CBR ugly to look at and the single cylinder engine is just not cool, especially for a 250cc. The only pro is the FI, and that's fairly minor really. So you'll have your bike before you take your MSF? I'd probably give the keys to the bike to your parents if they live close by or someone you trust really well and tell them not to give them to you until you've finished the MSF. The temptation to 'just take it for a spin around the neighbourhood' is too great. |

Hey welcome!
Definetly rec. The msf course first. Tons to learn and how to operate safely. The course is fun too. Since the dealerships are busy, take your time trying to get one or as long as you can. I took.the course.first and then bought a bike. I was strapped for cash at the time and just wanted to ride xD lol Have fun here! |

So after a couple of weeks and couple more dealerships I finally found one with both the Honda CBR 250 and Kawasaki Ninja 250. After sitting on both back to back about 2 dozen times I chose the Ninja. It just fits me better, the Honda seemed bigger in the seat, but seeing as I am only 5'6" the ninja feels as if it was built for me.
Thankfully this dealer ship wasnt a pain in the rear and have been awesome so far. Put half down payment and filled out the paper work and will pay the other half when I pick up the bike. Just waiting on some frame sliders they ordered and then I should get it by next wednesday. I am excited/nervous/anxious I cant wait >< |
