Nice BMW pulls up next to me at a redlight and starts reving, so of course i rev abit back. we both take off and i blow him away. we end up at a red light and he rolls down his window to say " Fast bike" I replied "Yeah and it didnt cost $50,000 either" He just rolled his window back up and drove off slowly. |

no, "nice BMW" in Guelph is one that's white with at least 26" rims.
I kid, I kid. filling up when squid walks out to gsuxr (sp?) and asks what kinda bike it is. "250" I say, to which he replies "why not a 600" then proceeds to rev to redline and wheelie onto the street. Since then my iq has dropped 2 points just from talking to him. Wonder what the 125 guys say about us? Last futzed with by Asspire; June 12th, 2012 at 09:49 PM. Reason: grammaticulars errores |

When the drunk partiers are walking around where I go to school they always yell for me to rev it up. I just shake my head and wave.
But I always get the standard "Is that a 600?"...I laugh out loud... |

I've been working at my new job for just 4 days and I was talking to one of the managers on the second day about where to park cause he said it'd be stolen if I parked in the wrong places (wish me luck ) so today he came up to me and said "So when you gonna get a real motorcycle?", I laughed and explained how I can't afford the insurance on a 600. It's all good because he used to ride and was telling me all kinds of stories about his 1100cc when he was young.
Also, on the way out of work, an employee met me in the back room where I keep my gear during work. He started asking about my bike, saying he always wanted the Ninja 250 since he was a kid. He asked the price and sighed when I told him mine was 1600, might have a buyer when I'm looking to upgrade :P He was asking how hard it is to ride and if shifting was hard.

I know, that's the second one to tell me I don't have a real bike. A lot realer than they have. It just has a smaller engine. It's like telling me that my honda accord isn't a real cage because it's slow engine :P
Maybe it's just from the look of the pregens ? Oh well, their loss on having no bike rather than a "fake bike"

Or even yet how 'bout like a vintage car when relating to your pre-gen too? There's lots to respect and praise for a well-kept vintage car (despite ITS technologies and aesthetics), so why can't the same be said of motorcycles? We all know where they're coming from, and i'm sure i'd chuckle along the first coupla times they take a jab at the cc's of my engine, but seriously, the american adage (of bigger is better) gets old pretty quick. -_-; live and let live, i say! so lemme be happy w/ my microscopic cc's!

Funny thing my wife said....
My wife said the funniest thing about my six-fiddy last night after swapping bikes for our ride home... she said "it sure handles better than my Vulcan". She went on to say stuff like "you just think it and it does it." and "I didn't feel the ruts in the lane."
Disclaimer: Even after spencerizing my seat, she still thinks the vulcan seat is way more comfortable - and she's right. |

Got the 600 question again yesterday. Though the conversation was funny because I was watching the Pony Express Re-Ride, and after the exchange of the mochila one of the period actors came over and was complimenting me on my "pony". Interesting talking about a bike as a horse!

Got McDonald's for lunch adn the kid that handed me my food decided to chat me up.
Him "That's a 250 huh?" Me "Yeah" Him "(zoned out for first few words) gixxer 1300, they're really fast" I looked at him a bit confused trying to put it together since i missed the first few words and i rationalized that he must want one or something like that. So then he says "You don't know what that is huh?" Me "I know what it is" Him "How fast does that thing go?" Me "Fast enough to get you in trouble" He smirked and i flipped my visor down and drove off |

For a change someone said something really smart about my bike! I've changed my shift pattern over to GP style. At a light today someone whistled for my attention. I just do what I always do and act like I can't hear them and keep looking forward, because usually it's some dumb-ass with a dumb-ass comment. Instead he asked if I liked the GP shifting compared to a normal pattern. I was blown away, someone with brain cells! I recommend he try it and he thanked me and the light turned green.
A few days ago a co-worker came in and asked me "When you gonna quit ridin' that scooter and move up to a real bike?" and I replied to him "I dunno, but my scooter has got more of its original sheet metal on it than your car does and still moves faster!". He drives a very rusty and beat up CRX. I like the guy, but he is an idiot when he starts talking about bikes. He thinks he needs a liter bike to carry his weight. He also thinks he is experienced enough for a super sport because he rode on a friend's a few times and "didn't die". Ya man, I've been on the dirt for over ten years and the street for about one and a half and I'm still quite content with the 250 for street duty. I get a lot of people mistaking it for a 750 at the pump. Then again, most of the people who mistake it for a 750 were around in the era when these bikes were out... I could understand the untrained eye mistaking my pre-gen for an older, larger machine. |
