Fun bikes, and quite reliable. But 11 years is a long time, and figuring out how well it was taken care of from then to now would make all the difference.

There is a fella on a local forum who has put 250,000 on his F4i, including almost 10 track days. If it's been taken care of, the bike will last you. Never ridden one myself, but the folks I know love theirs. Definitely a capable bike. But yes, knowing how it's been ridden/cared for is a huge game changer.

Great bike

I have a 2003 f4i and love it! They are absolute tanks and are the perfect stunt bike from what the stunters say. I wanted an rr but went with the f4i for the great deal I found; I prefer the more aggressive stance of the newer model but you cant bet the comfortability for long rides, oh, and the power is just about perfect, surprised I havent gotten into trouble yet I havent ran into anything major with mine yet after I had the motor rebuilt (lied to by seller about running condition; didnt care at the time), very fun, reliable bike! Good luck with your decision/purchase!

If you decide to do it, I would leave the scratches and whatnot. It's a motorcycle. It's going to get dropped at some point. No sense in big spending money on something trivial like a couple scratches.

I'd upgrade the headlights before I repair light cosmetic damage. That's just me.

I am 19 and insurance on my f4i runs just over $400 a year (Shelter), the coverage is no different than my ninjette was but the rate was cut in half from Progressive.

I agree with Chris about the fairing damage, I plan to replace my fairings after everything else is perfect. If I drop it while the stock fairings are in place, so what? Not like it will hurt anything but the paint!

They're a very nice machine, pretty quick, pretty comfortable, capable of commuting, touring & acting the idiot with an absolutely bulletproof engine (if it's taken care of)

Honda are known for dodgy reg/recs but otherwise bulletproof bikes

There's a lot of 04s & similar vintage with a solid 30k miles going for good money (about 3 grand) in this part of the world, 19,500 is a low mileage one...

This is what I got. http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-5-HID-BI-X...7eb8fc&vxp=mtr

the ring around it is a diffusor for LED's or whatever, but it's a weird size. You'll prolly want to get different shrouds somewhere else.

Those look like those bk-moto projectors or whatever those things are. Idk, I'm not sold on those cut-offs, or the appearance of the projectors from the front. I like other projectors better.

There's wiring for the demon eyes. Wiring for the halos. Also remember that there's no way to see either of those when you have the HID on, so you might want to install a switch to control the headlight/cool effects.

The one I liked only has wiring for the solenoid, and then your HID bulb has wiring. That's it. I installed LED's as well, and I'll be installing a handlebar switch and a double pull double throw relay so I can flip the headlight off and halo on with the flick of one switch. But the projector itself only has wiring for the high/low beam solenoid.

One of the guys in my HS class would periodically put his R6 on CL to "see how much he could get for it" and deny every offer to look at it because he didn't actually want to sell. It pissed me off.

Now he's riding a GSXR 750 (third bike) and still can't ride for beans.

Sucks! I found a used 01 F4i at the local Honda dealership. It's in fantastic condition. Less than 5,000 miles and they are asking $3500. If only I didn't buy my KLX. JK. I love my KLX.

But damn. For an 11 year old bike it looks great!

Next fall/winter I am definitely buying a 600.

Jono, go for it!! But make sure to get the ninjette out on the track this summer. You'll love it. It will give you a whole new respect for what the 250 is capable of, and an even healthier dose of awe for the 600 when you do get it. They're totally different animals, but are a blast.

Seriously, get the 250 on the track at least once before you get a bigger bike. You'll be a more rounded rider for doing it. csmith12 has offered to let me take his R6 out at Mid-Ohio for a session next time I'm there. I'm thinking I might take him up on that offer just for the experience. (and the pictures ) SS bikes are amazing machines

Yup! That's the plan. I will not buy a larger cc bike until I get to the track at least once. Hopefully do a two day event this summer. And once I ride the crap out of my Ninja for two days I will try and sell it! Then in the fall/winter I will get me 600. That's the plan anyways. I may end up keeping my Ninja. I don't know how many people would want to buy it. lol. But if I can get at least $1,200 for it I'd be happy.

And take csmith12 up on that offer!! I would love to ride a nice R6 especially on the track! I rode a friends pos 03 R6 that has serious issues. It will not rev above like 6k once it's warmed up. I don't know whats going on with it and he hardly ever rides or tries to figure out whats wrong with it. Anywho, I rode it and it is still so much faster than the ninja. It's crazy. Haha. I can't even imagine what it feels like at 10k+ rpms.
