I'm stuck with the 250 until I can afford something else! It's a great bike for the price and will get you around anywhere you need to go, but it's just too noticeably weak for my preference....

I got a bigger bike that allowed me to work on skills above the speed capabilities of the 250, so I really don't count there. But I did keep both my 250's (pregen included) because they are for me, the perfect balance between comfort, sport and economics. If you like the classic lines, then the style factor also counts for something too.

I never want to ditch my 2008 model 250. The only thing that has ever made me consider wanting to ADD a bigger bike to the stable is looks. I really like the 2005/6 and 2007/8 ZX6R and I really like the Triumph Daytona 675. I also think the Ducati 1198/9 looks amazing, but I never entertained the idea of actually owning one.
I absolutely HATE the mirrors on seemingly every bike Buell had ever made but some of those bikes look great other than that. |

I love my pre gen. It's not going any where any time soon. The best $1k I ever spent.
My 07 FZ6 will be with me for a long time as well. It's the best 600cc ever. |

Honestly, it's good cheap fun. It's fun to toss around, it fits with my life style (not a track rat, not a highway stunter), and it just puts a smile on my face, every time I ride it. It does all this while getting pretty good gas mileage and without attracting too much attention. It's not hard to work on, parts are plentiful and relatively cheap, and after 3 years riding, it's still allowing me to learn and grow as a rider.
If I get a larger bike, which I definitely want at some point, it will be in addition to a 250/300/small supermoto. I like having a small bike that lets me have fun without getting into expensive ticket territory. |

It basically does everything I need and is cheap on fuel, maintenance, and insurance.. I do wish for a little more horsepower and a little more electrical output sometimes but it works for me the way it is now. And it has for the last 85k miles, oh and one more thing.... It's paid for.

I was going to keep my 250 but I just didn't want to deal with it anymore. It was rather beat up and I didn't feel it would be worthwhile to do anything to the bike beyond basic maintenance. Farkles on a bike with all its fairings scratched/cracked/missing would be silly but I sure as hell wasn't going to get new fairings either. Since it still ran just fine, figured it would be better to just pass it off onto another new rider.

Nothing wrong in going to a larger ride if you as a rider are comfy with the move up. In my case, I have made the move down to the lil 250. This is a fun little scoot and the engine lasts.

I bought my pregen brand new out of the crate in 2005 and have no desire to get a "bigger" bike. Not even thinking about the 300. My pregen has been very dependable and does everything I need it to do.
