We only knew a few folks running it this year, and believe we've heard from all of them via Fbook at this point. Sad and unexpected, but also glad it wasn't worse. That many thousands of people crowded around such a tight area, for two large explosions to result in 2 deaths is a less tragic outcome than might be imagined or expected by the perpetrators.

Yeah, very unexpected. Even with all that security near the finish **** like this can still go down.

When someone said in class today that two bombs went off at the Boston Marathon I thought that hundreds must have been killed or at least hurt. Glad things were not worse.

I used to ride out to Hopkinton for the start then ride into town and hang on Newbury St for the finish. Then I moved to Park Dr in Boston and they used to run by the homestead so I would have a party on the roof top. I've checked with all my friends and it seems everyone is safe. It's a crazy world we live in now. I just don't understand attacking the innocent.

We were just there thurs to sat for my daughters birthday. Took the duck boat tour and it crossed the finish line. My brothers wife ran it a couple yrs ago and she works in the city. Glad she took the kids somewhere out of the city today. Crazy times. Innocent child killed. Hope they find whoever did this and terminate them. But it won't help the victims.
