Mismatching...
As some of u might know I've recently changed my rear tire. Since I sometimes go on 2, 3hrs ride, I picked the Kenda 657. I ddnt have money for a set and there isnt any front for this tire anyway.
Now front tire going bad, I need to change it asap before I go to west palm beach this coming monday. I'm looking at the pirelli sport demons, the pirelli mt75 and the bridgestone bt45. I need something that will perform well n the street as well as on the twisties. But since I already have the kenda in the rear, I cant get a set of either of the aforementioned tires. Besides I dnt have the money for that. Money is limited and time is running against me, so Is it wise to get mismatched tires? This **** is driving me crazy cuz am going far in the next couple of days and I dnt want any problems. Have you ever had mismatched tires on ur bike, and how was the handling? |

Should you mismatch tires? No.
Can you get away with it? Absolutely. The degree of concern grows with the more aggressive you ride.

I have done it and many different bikes. Basically, never outride the traction ability of your weakest tire and all will be well.
Ride on and enjoy the beach.
