Woodworking Plans

I have a question for experienced woodworkers. Where do you get your plans for different projects? Rolling tool carts, benches and the like.

I have searched via google with limited success. Can you point me to some good free resources?

Thanks

Well, this is a really old school suggestion- try your local public library. Specifically, back issues of wood working and home improvement magazines (the Family Handyman is a good one, especially the fix up your garage issues that they have each year). Plus you can always browse the stacks for books on the subject to check out.

Have made several projects over the years with plans from popular mechanics.
Also good resource at ...

U-build is not free but the plans are comprehensive.

As a metalworker, just look through design books and furniture catalogs for ideas and copy them. Should be easy if you know the fundamentals. You can just look up the standard heights and dimensions of things like stools, counters and tables, or go measure them yourself at a furniture store.

Lowes and Home Depot have tons of woodworking books. I'm not sure if they cover garage goodies.
