is there a plug and play quickshifter on the market for the 08+ carbureted ninjettes?

I thought you needed a Fuel Injected motorcycle to have a quickshifter. Turns out I was wrong.

Here's 2 I found. They are universal.

I am bumping this thread to see if anyone has been using any of the QSs available now? I also saw that SV Racing has one as well. Thoughts on cost and function?

I have the universal dynojet qs, works on fi and carb bikes. I had it on my gixxer, tested it on my 250 race bike and works as well. My analysis, I don't think it is necessary for a 250, it would be just convenient.

Well I’ve only ridden it a couple times but I have a hard time keeping it in the power band without hitting the limiter. Maybe that is a indicator of some other issue? Plus regular shifting is so 2013 ha-ha. I have one on my other bike and I'm a little addicted.

First, ride it a bit more. Once your sure, there are 2 possibilities; gearing could be better for the track your on & your personal style. Or... you can go faster, so just upshift and man up.

yeah, just carry more speed into the corner. brake less, then you don't have to accelerate so much

quickshifters have a sensor on the linkage for the shift mechanism. when you go to shift up it kills spark for a set time. so people stay on the gas and flick it up, it kills spark, goes in, and the entire time they're spraying WOT fuel out their exhaust pipe so if its an aftermarket pipe you wind up exploding out the tail pipe every upshift. it sounds ****in sick. but i'm pretty sure it probably isn't great for your exhaust valves.

A quick shifter barely saves you time. Milliseconds.

True, but on the track they are very useful.

Have a friend that uses Cordovas on many of his bikes, including his 250 that had the #1 plate in the CMRA a few years ago.

I've found the Dyno Jet QS at STG for $319.
The Starlane comes in at $449 at YoYoDyne.
There are a few others out there..HM, Cordona, SV racing, but I'm leaning towards the Starlane, but I'm not sure it's worth the extra coin. Also I don't think either comes with quick connects, I think there will be some wire splicing.

My buddy has the Translogic and is very happy, he said it was a easy install. I know the SV Racing one is 400$ shipped sounds very versitile. I know on fule injected bikes you can either cut spark OR gas and different systems do it different ways but I suppose with carbs cutting spark is the only option so I assume they all work about the same

The only reason to get one if you're not racing, clutchless shifting already gives you ridiculously fast gear changes.

This may sound kind of stupid, but I dont remember what kind it is and that bikes in Fla right now. I will pick it up at Roebling in March. However it worked great and was nice to have during the 2 hour at Jennings. I highly recomend it. A friend of mine brought it over from England if that helps.

Aha...I believe I talked to you at the Jennings 2 hour. I was the slow poke riding with Tuna (no quick shifter and I had to ride regular vs my normal GP shift). You guys were putting down some fast laps in that 2 hour. Are you going to be doing many 250 races down in the SE region this year?

Yes, we did talk. We will be running CCS at Roebling and Daytona at the end of the season. We have an SV and an R6 this season and will be running the ASRA series. I'm not sure how much 250 racing we will do. If I find myself crewing for my son (he was the real fast one at Jennings, 1:28's) the 250's may be on the block.
