Freeze out gilet, glove liners, and balaclava. Commuting on the bike now and they are a must for the sub 40F mornings.

Recent pickup: http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/r...size_chart_tab After trying 3 different backprotectors. I settled on a Type ST/Size 12 Seesoft back protector. It's CE LV.2 and very comfortable, light, and flexible. The size chart on RevZilla is very wrong. It stated Size 11 would be 420mm long. And it states Size 12 is 480mm long. The protector itself reads 420mm, which is the size I needed when I received the size 11. I definitely recommend that anyone who looks into backprotectors, look for something just about the size of your cheap foam insert that came with your jacket. Don't settle for something smaller just because it was recommended. The protector barely fits in my small A* jacket, but the coverage and feeling of safety are terrific. |

I am going to try to ride year round, taking a bike to work is just a lot better mentally for me than the cage. Kinda liberates. The mornings are still a bit of a challenge even with new freeze out stuff. 30 minutes at sub 40F and 60-70 mph is just hard to overcome without heated gear.

Since relocating back, I use the Ninjette for daily transportation and have to re-setup my gear for all weather conditions - and on a tight budget now . Luckily South Texas has a lot more sun and warmth throughout the year than the Midwest. |

Just got my TCX X-Street riding boots! Not the most protection but they will do just fine for riding to meet someone for dinner. For highway riding, I have the TCX X-Cubed which offer more protection but not at the same level as the more technical boots.

Not specifically moto related but will be used with my moto gear so eh, its new anyway.
Since my Gerbing is undergoing surgery, I found that my Tourmaster isn't wind proof. Now, thanks to an REI clearance rack, I picked up this neat little jacket that will help retain the heat from the inner jacket and block the wind from the outer jacket.

I'm actually impressed with this jacket so far. On the ride into Reno I was cool but on the ride to Carson after buying it I was sweating. It takes me being very hot to get anywhere near sweating (dehydration is fun... Not) so the fact it was doing that well on its own makes me very excited about pairing it with the heated liner for ultra cold nights.
