but really, find your max and do 12-15 reps of about 65-75% of the max. that will really help with strength and fitness on the bike.

That's cool, part of my cardio is to play a very hard maraca game called sambe de amigo on dream cast. It gets ur heart racing, I'm thinking about a new fitness program, my brother does mma fighting and he used to have very skinny wrists like mine as we have high metabolisms and a small bone structure (my wrist is only about 2 in wide) but he got his bone density much higher after gaining a lot of weight. His wrists are almost twice as thick as mine now and he has almost no fat so its his bone which got thicker, so I was thinking about gaining around 40 lbs to get up to 160. And then dropping 20 or 30 lbs. This will get my bone density a lot higher which will make it harder to break any bones (mma fighters almost never break bones despite having a kicking force of around 4000 lbs and kicking metal poles at full force) The other benefit to this is that it will be Mich easier to maintain 130 lb weight after I gain significant muscle instead of getting up to 130lbs and constantly lossing and gaining weight to stay there

^i don't know about all that bone density witchcraft ish... but playing video games to get the heart rate up works well too.

lol naw it works, alot of people do weight training to increase there bone denstiy after they have been imobile for a while like if there in a coma or in a cast for a while as do astronauts when they come back from an extended period in space , your bones get micro fractures like your muscles get micro tears and your body rebuilds it thicker

I've lifted PLENTY heavy.. my bones are the same size.

my weakest link has always been my wrists and ankles. and no matter how much weight i gain, they remain the same.

Hmm that's interesting. Maybe its genetics, cuz my brothers wrists almost doubled in size. Though he worked out over the course of 6 years constantly fluctuating in weight from 115lbs to 215 lbs so it might take longer to build bone density

It's been medically proven that there is some truth to this ^^^. MMA/UFC fighters do this to toughen up their skin, muscle and bone and in the shin area especially. We punch the muay thai bag (hard as hell) at Kung Fu class to toughen our knuckles. Google microfracture training for more info.

I know muay thai fighters do this. but i think russians have the better bone gene. i got that african in me and it's based on a skinny structure. try finding african boxers. they stay thin...

I don't think one could ever rebuild it thick enough to realistically alter one's appearance and even if you could, I wouldn't want to, that's just too freaky for me.

AGREED!

you can strengthen... but you can't beast out your bone size like the aforementioned comment.

Nowhere near as strong as you darren but I've also noticed that my wrists are my weak link in lifting. They just don't get stronger as quickly as the rest of my body and limit me far more than anything else when benching. Luckily squats aren't a problem.

After that last injury I stopped lifting that heavy. 315 is the heaviest i'll go now... and that's rare. I think for racing slapping a 45 plate on each side and doing high reps is best. I know that get's boring so i'll throw on a few more at times.
