Not a ninja 250 owner :(
Hello,
I will introduce myself first my name is daniel i'm 20 and currently studying motorsports at university, i have been riding for 4.5 years and have owned a 50cc scooter, cbr 125cc, x3 gpz500s (one sold other two still owned). I am on here as some ninja 250 parts are interchangeable and i love to make my bike unique to me so i am here to join this awesome community (been an avid reader for a few months) and hopefully make my 2002 Kawasaki GPZ 500s better by adding some 250 bits for anyone who is interested in my bike these are the things i have done to the bike ( i hope this is allowed ) http://gpz500.co.uk/index.php/forum/...-disc-mod-list i know they dont benifit preformance as such but it makes the bike unique to me Thankyou and im looking forward to speaking to you all and learning some new information Danny |

Glad to have you here; you are welcome
Regarding weight, speed, torque and control, how was your transition from 125 cc to 500 cc?

i was on a restricted licence for two years so i only had 33bhp to play with but i found it fine, it was very heavy in comparison and it accelerated fast compared to my lil cbr 125. Once the restrictors where out thats where it came alive, the gpz has a good kick at 7000rpm and because the restrictors remove this i wasn't expecting it and when it happened it was at the time scary fast but then i got used to it and built up my confidence gradually, people tell me to upgrade to a faster bike and i don't see the point (yet) the gpz is plenty fast for my commute and can keep up with sport bikes in the corners so i have no issues with it, and then i get hassled for spending so much on a 'throw away' bike but they don't understand that its my bike modded to suit me and when you get people compliment the bike it makes it all the better

This forum is very unique in that respect, many of us have gone on to faster bikes over time and sold off our 250s but stick around because the people are awesome. We have quite a few sv650 and r6 riders specifically

Coming from someone named Nick. What a weird name, like, what is your "nickname" for nick? A nick is like a little scratch or something i.e I nicked the back of my neck with an arrow. That's not a name.

Hello Daniel,
a warm welcome to you. The first please let me say that one point from you is interesting for me, very interesting and it's where you say: 'currently studying motorsports at university', but since I'm oldtimer already I have to learn that this is the new life and now everything is based and related to debitism, where the banking business is making the rules. Your bike from looking at the pictures is a really nice one, congrats. Now please let me answer to some of your questions from the second post you made. The first about V-Rossi rims: Please stay away from them since they are very cheap (USD 120 only) and one salesman from Indonesia who sold them also recommended me not to buy them since the could break very easy and see one post from Indonesia (scroll down to picture 4): http://smartf41z.com/2012/07/28/berb...s-salah-pilih/ - it seems they are just to lightweight... And so we come to the next point, when you look for farkles then look for this in Indonesia, the worlds biggest market in parts for the Ninja 250 and one shop could be http://empiremotoshop.com/ where you'll get rims for double disc also. The other one you'd mention http://intijayamotor.com/ doesn't answer emails, they are to rich already and don't need someones money. By the way, the quality of Chemco rims, that's what the guy in Indonesia told me, is the best from all those aftermarket rims. I'd buy the Power Racing rims that time and the size is front 3.5 inch, rear 4.00 inch. They are around 2.5% heavier compared to oem. In gauges you could get Acewell or Koso, where it's important to know that the quality of Acewell is much better then Koso and Koso doesn't have any service. Good luck for you and enjoy your bike |

so the quality of chemco is very good ? my bike is 200kg wet and 295 with me on the bike full of gear and my uni equipment. so i was thinking get a zx6r front rim (same as the ninja 250 style) and get an aftermarket rim, but then its finding the correct design, and im sure i can mount an acewell in my dash i received an email from lazy motors - "hi, for the dual disk, its only applicable to Ninja 300fi, can i know is your bike produced in 2009 or the 2013?" ill take it it is only the rear wheels that are transferrable on the bike ? and unfortunately motorsports is a heavily driven by money now, its a business at the end of the day and unfortunately most do fail due to debt, its companies like Msport who keep growing and the long lasting little businesses are few and far between. motorsports should be fun |
