Put a late 80s ZX600 shock on her. Lowered it another 2ish inches. Handling is amazing now! Just got to modify the kick stand that the boyfriend made and i think I'm good.
Heres what she looks like now: Can we say low rider? Last futzed with by LittleRedNinjette; July 12th, 2013 at 10:46 AM. Reason: Added the pic |

I went for a ride to work, then took the long curvy way home! 75, sunny, and breezy makes up for having 3 full weeks of hot, humid, and stormy!
Now to go for a long-ass run because the recent storm warnings have driven me inside. And going to do a 350-ish mile ride on saturday! Woot! |

It's coming I promise!! You're what, 2-3 days behind us weather-wise? Hopefully it clears up for you this weekend. Last night our storms were the worst they've been for this whole mini-rainy season.

Finally got my fork oil seals from Race Tech (after a month...) and just placed an order for a 15T front sprocket so I can see what all the hot fuss is about.
Going to be installing Race Tech springs, new dust/oil seals, fork oil and 15T front sprocket the weekend after next. |

Just finished putting 3M tape on licence plate to be able to quickly take it off. and put it back on, same stuff as on the EZ pass. BTW is anyone else doing that? Wanna know how secure it and if what i got is enough.

In short: All bikes and scooters do it so we wouldn't get violations.
In NYC parking is a nightmare. When we park on a street we have to pay a Muni-meter where we pay as much as a car which is $3 per hour in most cases. And get a receipt that we should display on the dashboard of the car, impossible to stick to a bike. DOT suggests to get a clear pouch to be able to display a parking receipt visible for traffic officers. Weekdays most meters are only for commercial vehicles. I've spoken to a traffic officer on the issue, he said "I don't wanna mess with bikes, plus the plates are mostly removed." Which is true whenever I see a bike on the street or a Vespa I usually see the plate removed and the officers normally turn a blind eye. Takes a bit more effort to tow a bike then a car, though I have seen it happen. To give a ticket officers normally scan the cars registration and their hand held device prints out a parking violation automatically. Saves a lot of time and lets them cover a lot of ground. considering every other car on the block is not supposed to be parked. Parking garages charge 200+ bucks per month and same price as car for regular parking. We are still running the risk of getting towed each time by removing the plate for it is technically considered as an abandoned vehicle, but what can we do when the parking system is flawed? Taking the plate off is the solution that every biker is being pushed to. The american freedom and the idea that the motorcycle represents is being attacked in NYC. I'd love to move, but I work here and going for my architectural license In NY state I will be living here for a while. Anyways, I really don't wanna bother with 2 screws each time I take the plate on and off. Plus when it is also risky to get caught in the act. But I found that this 3M tape seems to be the best solution. I'll probably will still use 1 screw just in case. What do you think?

The adhesive will give over time
maybe a clevis pin, a couple of washers and a spring clip will hold it. The adhesive will be fine for the ez pass.

Are people taking plates off personally or are they stolen?
If people are stealing them, them you'll have more reason to hide them.

Valve adjustment this morning. Dealership discovered that most of the heads of the bolts were rounded off and so it took 4 hours instead of the 2 I was quoted. Still only paid for 2 hours labor though.
Replaced the chain and put on a 15t front sprocket, courtesy of @rojoracing53. Also discovered how ****ed up my rear brakes are so I'll have to replace those very soon... |

went to fix my "bent" kickstand today but the replacement one was the same way so I hunted down a .02" washer to fill in the gap and stop the kickstand from wobbling now it fits much more stable but I have to take it apart and experiment with washer on other side to see if it actually stands it up more.
on a side note can anyone tell me what setting my shock is on and where should I put it? I weight 190lbs... and may start carrying a passenger when i feel more comfortable with it. |

Riding with a set of tires is an adventure I'd rather avoid in the future. In any case, I managed to ride an hour away with my tires and changed them out mostly by myself at a DIY shop. Put on BT-45s. Also replaced the brake pads since I was already taking wheels off. HH sintered pads in the front, organic in the rear. Oh yeah, and I finally was able to put on swingarm spools since @rojoracing retapped the holes yesterday. Almost like a whole new bike after this weekend

Today was probably my biggest day yet with my ninjette
I adjusted the preloader.. and managed to bruise/cut one of my fingers (just like everyone warned to watch out for. I moved it up to 3, and after a little riding I already like it better. Then I took the left fairing off for the first time, because as I was about to lube my chain, I noticed that the front sprocket cover was about as gooped up as could be. It literally had a layer of like.. tar on it, and looked like it had never been taken off before. It was disgusting and took me forever to clean. But I had to take the fairing off, then took that off and cleaned out that whole area. Then got around to lubing the chain, and put everything back on and together. It was kinda fun though. I wanna find another reason to work on my baby.. Hmm..
