Fixed my rear right turn signal. Discovered that it wasn't working during my pre-check before leaving for work.

So got the Demons installed and wow what a difference. Bike sits higher which I'm not sure if I like or dislike yet but it defintly feels more stable. What's the recommended break in for new demons?

About 1 lap or so depending on rider. Oh, lol you mean street? Just be smart and purposely scrub them in as well as bring the tires up to temp and you'll be good to go. Some riders can do it in a about a mile, others need 50+.

It took Choneofakind 2.3 miles to break his in on a nice day at the track.

When breaking in a new rear tire do you just need to ride slow & smooth for a bit and the outer layer will naturally wear off and you're good, or is it the case that you need to lean it over bit by bit to wear it so basically riding in a circles in a parking lot for 10-15 minutes (possibly more) would be enough?

I'd have said do a burnout but that wouldn't get the tire edges unless you're insane.

Thanks, hope to get it to 30k soon.

Ordered feeler gauges, a digital micrometer and a valve shim kit. Printed up the service manual sections regarding valve inspections/adjustments and as long as all the parts come in by the weekend, I'll be performing an oil change, valve adjustment and new front master cylinder and Vesrah pads for the front.

Need to trim up a lil bit of the throttle side, it's rubbing on the bar end. Tech likes the throttle to really SNAP back.

Nice!

My boyfriend has these on his Buell and loves them. He did have to trim them a bit. They have a thicker grip, helped the "hand falling asleep" problem the he had.

Yep, the fatter grip is the main reason I got these, it's a preference from my previous life as a cruiser rider. They were pretty cheap too. Since alex.s will be the first to ride my bike with these grips, we will have to defer to him for the new grip feel review in a couple of weeks lol.

Did a valve adjustment and installed the APE manual CCT.

I don't think I've ever been more scared to start the bike up after performing a service like that, thankfully it was only 8 valves.

All my intake valves were in spec and all my exhaust valves were out of spec and too tight.

I was also extremely grateful that I bought a magnetic pick-up tool as it made picking up the buckets so much easier and one of the outer dowels fell into the engine after lifting up the camshaft cap.

The downside was that it took me about 6-7 hours to do, as moving all that **** out of the way to remove the valve cover took me ages and I had difficulty keeping the timing when reinstalling the camshafts because I was worried about the camshaft chain skipping or something when cranking the engine. I also seemed to do every mathematical calculation even though I didn't need to just to triple-check my work on which shims to install.

Next weekend will be an oil change, OEM engine mount nuts/bolts and finishing the removal of the Shogun frame sliders as I removed the right hand side slider to install the manual CCT since I found it impossible to access the CCT with the frame slider bracket in the way.

It only took my lazy ass 15k miles to get around to performing the damn valve adjustment.

can you do a thread on how you made that? I could likely figure it out on my own but a DIY thread would be helpful since I don't know if I'll have my car running again before the summer when I'll want to ride my mtb at my favorite trails.
