But I totally know what you mean. I've never really played it, but I saw my stepbrother playing Uncharted. To me, it looked like Tomb Raider for men who feel emasculated when playing as a female character.

The practice of guyz rescuin' chicks is set in stone. Yet who are the chix being rescued from....other guyz, Given the historically small value men place on females lives I wonder if guys use women more as an excuse to fight with each other than as something they really feel is worth fighting over.

Why is your son playing farm games?

You don't even know how true that statement is. In your infinite free time, watch some footage of a game called "Redneck Rampage".

When my son plays this game, no chicks survive. hahahahhahahaha

I rewatched the OP video again.... yep, still feel the same way. pshawwww

If the world was perfect it would be a very, very boring place.
People scare too easily, period.
Anything less than perfection is unacceptable.
Males and females are different, both having pros and cons. But when working effectively together, have but a few flaws as a whole.

Language is a beautiful thing, even from the tongues of youth. The secret, is to forget the words and listen to the emotion instead (both verbal and nonverbal). The problem with this video is not the content, it lies with the people that can't see the forest for the trees. ijs...

did you know that because of recent studies done in the arctic circle and in hawaii on long term secluded missions, future nasa missions that span longer than 2 months will always be led by a female? they concluded if a male is in charge of other males, the other males in the team get this weird alpha-male syndrome thing and they inevitably fight for power. but if a woman is in charge, it never happens.

Agreed. A lot of people hate her for no reason (possibly because she's a woman in a video game? I mean, people hate Cortana from Halo, too). I personally love her and Dog. Its adorable when she grabs his face and pets him. Makes me want a robot dog.

i think it was because she was a very able woman and wasn't flashing TNA every other glance. instead she was dressed appropriately for her tasks and had an interesting personality. this for some reason doesn't fly with your average 18 year old gamer. why? because we aint teachin em how to be classy. we teachin em to be assholes and to stick to social cliques and follow social stigmas. if --socially-- it was wholly unacceptable to be a piece of ****... guess who wouldn't be pieces of shits? the majority of the society. but its not. it is socially encouraged for people to be assholes. why?

What is this infatuation with motorcycles? What is this infatuation with sports? ...with NASCAR? ....with TV shows? ....with celebrities?

It's fun. While some are more acceptable than others (ex Fantasy football) in the end it all boils down to entertainment.

I don't play many games, since I suck as puzzles so stuff like Myst confused me and I am not dexterous enough for some of the button combos needed in the more action style games, but I love the world that's created. I love the stories and the adventures.

I can spend hours chipping away at little 3D blocks because I like letting my imagination play in a world where it's possible for me to create amazing things.

Maybe video games are a way to step out of lifes real world and set the mind free in an alternative arena?

There are so many mysterious places and adventures, as well as beautiful places beyond imagination in real life and traveling. But I just dont live a sedentary life and I don't have video games. I do remember a time when I was big into flight sims. Ace combat four was one awesome game back then. that and grand turismo three.

MaybeI will get a chance to play some of these games on a rainy day. I would like to see what all the hype is about.

I watched the vids move from Pong to the amazing products sold now. Any activity the moves one away from reality or the measurable world is good in moderation. No different from a bookworm or a garage rat or an adrenaline junkie. Too...reality has changed...resistance is fewtile.

Certainly my fascination with the Myst and Riven games came from my interest in industrial archaeology.
http://www.topforge.co.uk/Photograph...eology%203.htm

The Miller brothers say they drew much of their inspiration for the games from the derelict industrial areas around Spokane Washington

not to swing wildly off topic...

i remember buying the original mist game from CompUSA and putting the CD (!!!) in the brand new external CD PLAYER (!!!!) back when it came out. the prerendered graphics completely blew everything else out of the water back in the day.

not as much puzzle mystery, but more adventure story teller were the SCUMM engine games that lucasarts produced in the 90s. they're honestly my favorite games. the curse of monkey island, the digg, full throttle!!! oh man. they were fantastic.

the digg even featured strong a female lead, so ... that's almost on topic. the motorcycle mechanic chick in full throttle was pretty cool.

I confess. I have a rule. If it makes me laugh (which I love to do), it gets a thumb up. Laughter is an instant vacation, you know.
