I am going to try and not be jealous and sad of the fact that I just bought a 2010 model for quite a hefty price too.

csmith12, same! I think I'll be buying one of these instead of a Daytona 675 after college and mod the crap out of it.

Pause! Any bets on how long until there's a new turbo train wreck thread about the new bike??

Is it me or the frame looks the same?

If so, we will ba able to reuse our rearset.

The white one is very very nice...

It's gonna be an epic battle between my head and my heart over next winter...

The fake frame that runs along the tank does nothing to hide the exposed tubular frame leading up to the tail, so I hope someone makes some matching side panels to clip to that frame and cover that airbox.

If the tank is simply a more angular version of the current tank, I wonder if it will fit with the FI changes.

I'm wondering why they bothered to change only HALF of the frame caps.

Amen. And amen. I love how fi feels. I can't wait to see how it feels with an all new engine and exhaust that's tuned specifically for it. I bet this thing kills Honda. Can't wait to see how Yamaha responds.

Even through a dealership? I can recall that the 1st owner of my bike paid around $9-10k OTD.

I was planning on buying an Area-P race exhaust but that may be put on the backburner for now until more details about the 2013 models comes out.

It looks the same to me. But I am sure it is slightly different in order to hold the new fairings and such. The pregen and new gens frames are not hugely different.

I would be willing to bet that your rearsets would work on this bike. Just like the newgens rearsets work on the pregens.

That's more than twice what I paid for mine. I suppose you get more out of a bike in Cali, here in Washington there are really only 2-3 nice months out of the year.

I think they made great improvements to this model and this will be a hot seller IF the price stays the same. Although, with all the enhancements, I just don't see that being the case.

If only they would put a 350-400cc engine in that thing, I'd bite.

I know that the birdcage is different. There is no vertical seam between the upper and the lowers where the upper fairing stay would have a joint. It doesn't mean much though because you could swap the fairings and a birdcage if the rest of the frame were the same. I only see one bolt holding each of the lowers to the gas tank, so that's new too.

The rider's pegs are no longer rubber-cushioned. I like the current design of the footrest stay bracket.

dumb. If someone at a dealer charged me just as much for their commission as the bike cost, I'd be out the door so fast I would set a new men's 50m world record.

Wonder if the Cali dealership has like regional monopoly right from Kawi USA? Coz thats the case in my city. They also jack up the price than the Jakarta price,
But not that much of your buddy paid tho.

I would buy out of state and have it shipped for < $500 and spend the saved 3k and some change on gear.

Oh, and I just saw the frame there and on tmcblog. Those are some kind of integrated grab handles under the tail.

One picture made the swingarm look thinner. Less "tall."

tmcblog had a pic of what looked like factory sliders of some kind (didn't look like tank sliders). I don't see them on the assembled bikes though.

Edit: Saw it on the Kawi site too.

Kawasaki launches new Ninja 250 in Indonesia

Kawasaki launches new Ninja 250 in Indonesia
Small sport has been completely renovated and made antilock brakes.
249 cc engine will compete with rival Honda CBR 250R.

Following the look of the ZX-10R sport, the Kawasaski presented on Wednesday (1) the new Ninja 250 (the brand took the "R" nomenclature), Indonesia. The product comes in, at first, for the Asian market and has undergone complete change and now has ABS brakes as an option. To compete with rival Honda CBR 250R, Kawasaki has employed major changes on the bike, which received a new chassis and the engine was revised. According to the manufacturer, the engine-twin of 249 cc. Power and torque were not disclosed.

The engine has electronic fuel injection and liquid cooling, and according to the company, has been completely reworked, getting new pistons and cylinders of cast aluminum. Its chassis is of diamond-like, in which the engine is part of the structure and become more rigid, said company.

The suspensions were also revised, with the adoption of new shock absorbers at the front. Complementing its new structure, the bike gain wider rear tire. To aumengtar rider comfort, the vibration of the bike was reduced and a new technology heat management resulted in greater comfort.

As in CBR 250R, the ABS brake system is available as an option. To match the mechanical optimizations, the new Ninja 250 received a vision based on the "older sisters" of the family: ZX-10R and ZX-14R.

While the headlight is similar to the ZX-10R, the side fairings with integrated flash remember the ZX-14R. In Brazil, the brand still sells the old version of the model. The G1 came in contact with Kawasaki Brazil for information about the possible arrival of the new country, but nobody answered the phone.

I don't see a Speedo cable. Will it be run off the engine and need a Speedo healer to feel with gearing changes?

Also, those wheels are new. Sportisi is going to have to source some new 4.5" rims haha
