Removal of flames

Anyone know how to remove the flames on the body work without damaging the paint on a 2007? Not tank decals... they are ok

My bike has been garaged all it's life, but when I picked at a tip it didn't seem to readily want to come off. I really don't like flames, and think she would look clean and sleek just all gray.

Thank you for any help.

I used a heat gun at 500-800 degrees for about 5-10 seonds moving around the decals, they peeled off real easily after that

Be careful what you use goo gone on. I don't know about clearcoat but I used it on the windscreen once and it started to melt the plastic.

What!

I used it on my fairings like two years so, and they've been fine. Kinda scary..

I removed mine with a hairdryer, and goo-gone, then soapy water to remove the goo-gone, no issues whatsoever

It's all good, that is how KY women "put on" flames to their partners ride. So it counts.

If your wanting to add graphics, I would suggest looking at these blogs,

ZX-2R Custom graphics.

Its official

EBay seller 69cam can make OEM or custom graphics, in a number of colors, including reflective.

Yellow Dog Graphics does custom graphics as well, and offers numerous choices in vinyl as well.

Below is an idea before/after of graphics.
