Good deal for this Ninja 300 w/ABS under 2,000 miles?

He/she is looking for $4,200 firm. Do you think this is a good deal?

Link to original page on YouTube.

Or do you think I should wait until the fall/winter to try to get a better deal?

That doesn't sound too bad to me. The best way to determine if the price is reasonable is to look at what similar bikes are going for on ebay in the same area.

that's fair market value, just make sure he got the first service done and you're good to go

After actually watching the video, why are his tires so shiny? Even if he had just washed it, I don't think they'd look that shiny. Hopefully he didn't put any "tire wet" nonsense on the tread...

What's wrong with the slip on he has? With EFI, any mods needed for change in intake or exhaust? Or does the EFI adjust automatically?

What should I offer him if I decide to go see it?

Yeah, that looks like some sort of tire shine. If he does have it on, I'm not going to test ride it.

Question. How do you get it off!!!???

With a slip-on, you don't need to do anything. I think he's just referring to the "fart cannon" style of slip-on. Personal preference.

I'd say water with a mild soap, a stiff bristle brush, and a GOOD rinse afterward.

I'd take a few hundred off at least if only because it's good bartering. Remember, you don't NEED to buy HIS motorcycle. The tire dressing thing isn't a huge deal - it's not going to ruin the tires or anything - but it's still something stupid he may have done with the bike. What else might you have to fix?

Bike looks good to me! I'd grab it, I think he'd take 4k if you brought cash.

I believe he bought the bike for probably 5k (abs model) and he put on about $500 in mods, but mods don't add value to a bike really. I would say after a year and 2k miles, he devalued the bike about a grand. so 4k seems fair, but it's not a bad deal for 4.2

^ it depends on your uses, the performance gain is there but it's not enough to justify $1500 extra

what really makes the difference is the fuel injection, that's just nice if you ride in the winter

I did ride last winter (if it was in the upper 30s on my day off). I hated the fact that I had to drain the carbs after each ride in case I wasn't able to ride again for a month or two.

I guess it'll be so much easier with FI. Just treat the gas with fuel stabilizer? Seems too easy.

Yep, it's an SE. The non-SE bikes only came in black and white and you could only get ABS on the SE. Other than that, there are no differences.

As for whether it's worth it. that's all going to be personal preference. The 300 is a tiny bit faster and makes a bit more torque than the 250, but I'd say the big difference would be the ABS and the fuel injection. If you don't mind dealing with your choke and carbs, that already negates a lot of the advantage.

Mine out the door was 5000 including taxes and title. Mods add 0 value so, no I would not buy one over 3800 unless miles were under 1000.

I am SO tempted to, but I won't. I mean, i'm sure there is SOMETHING wrong with it. I mean, 3,600 for a 300 under 2k miles in perfect condition is GIVING it away.

Probably nothing wrong with it. The seller needs to get out from under it. Purchased my 2009 in 2010 with 400 miles on it for $2,500. I thought it was a good price. It was perfect. the guy was afraid to ride it...

I laugh when I see the Craigs list adds for old beat to piss 250's for ONLY $3,200.00! what a deal! It's a freaking muddy basket case and you want how much?

@cadd - Just look the throttle cables over very carefully. The fools who assemble these bikes at the dealer are incompetent . My gfs mirror fell off her 300 one day as she was ridding because it wasn't tightened down properly. I called the dealership and complained and they said they wouldn't cover the scratched up wind screen. Buncha jerks.

Look it all over with a fine tooth comb. Dont ever trust anyone but yourself."

I just got finished doing a bunch of work on my camaro because the fool who installed the roller rockers didnt know how to adjust them proper.

good luck. Seems like a real nice score. I wouldve picked it up in a hot second if I were in your shoes.

My favorite is seeing the 09's with 10k miles on there for 3,000. It's like FIVE years ago 10k miles your bike was about 4,400 brand new off the show room floor. And you expect to only take a 1,400 hit? lol

Yeah. We got those here in Jersey as well. Or 2010 that got dropped or slow parking lot speed crashes with damaged bodywork going for $2800.

The bike looks good though man, I'd sell the 250 to be honest, no sense having 2 small bikes. Either convert the 250 to a track bike or sell her and use money to buy some upgrades for your 300.

I picked my 09 up last week for $1500, with 11k on the clock...

Today I got in contact with a guy the next town over with a pregen that needed a new motor, and asked him how much... He said he was looking for $2k, but wouldn't take any less then $1800 because thats how much he still owed on it

OP, bikes are still selling like hotcakes, at least here in TN they are.

I heard the stock tires suck anyway, I would consider replacing them just for fun

More serious note, not sure what you could use to remove it, hell, go and rub some dirt on the tire, sand etc. Soap it up and just keep trying to wear off the shine... What an idiot for putting tire shine on a motorcycle... God, some people....

I hope next summer i'll get 3k for Amy, she's worth it, only problem is she does have 11k miles and she'll probably be at 14k when it's time to sell
