**Stolen** Buell XB9R Firebolt

The sucks!! Our buddy came home tonight to find he bike was stolen!

Please please please keep an eye out. It was parked in his condo complex in Plainsboro NJ. He custum painted it and it had some very rare and/or one of a kind parts. the kindly left the cover...

The bike means a lot to him and he realy wants to recover it though he is being realistic about the chances. There is always a little hope. Please share this around.

2006 Buell XB9R Firebolt, Satin black and mazda blue. The tensioner pulley for the belt is half black and half blue. The peg had just been changed to 1-2" droped black pegs. Plate is 2BMY1 if its still on the bike.

I would think with that bike it would be easier to spot, very distinctive look. Hopefully it isn't chopped.

Sorry to hear.

Thanks all..

Yeah, not a extremely common bike to start add the custom paint. It's a satin black with mazda blue. The tensioner pulley for the belt is half black and half blue.

The peg had just been changed to 1-2" droped black pegs.

Going to be checking CL...

Question

Date/Time when theft occurred?

VIN# or customization unique to the stolen vehicle?

I'm familiar with Plainsboro, lots of housing developments/townhouses..

Plainsboro cops are well known for dislike of motorcycles, I've personally experienced it as well.

I wouldn't spend too much time on CL looking for it.

It will probably be plasti dipped or rattle canned a different color and ridden with stolen plates. That's how thieves do it around here, anyway.

There is a small chance it was ditched not too far from his house if they couldn't get it running or it had other issues during the theft. Check dead end roads or cul de sacs or alley ways.

Another pro tip: talk to your garbage man!! They see everything...offer a small reward for info if they see it.

Plainsboro is a pretty safe town, not a town that vehicles get stolen on a daily basis and get chopped up.

If this Buell has been stored in plain sight, it may have been "eyed" for theft.

AFAIK, garbage are collected once a week in Plainsboro, not on a daily basis, finding the garbage man who collected on the date of theft might not result much.

That's what made it so surprising, it's a decent area.

It was actually parked near the dumpster spot (a couple spots down) but it wasn't garbage day...

It may not be garbage day for you but it probably is for someone else. Garbage men don't work one day a week, they cover certain areas certain days of the week.

Thanks for keeping the eye out. I have a feeling if it does make an appearance on CL it will either be in bits or not for a couple weeks... in bits...

Rattle can wouldn't change the modifications to it like the bars pegs and brake calipers though.

I will take it there has been no update and the insurance company is raising his rate after having to pay out for once?

Sadly no news. The insurance company has to wait 2 weeks to give it time to be recovered. Once the waiting period is over he has to fill out some paperwork and send them pictures.

I highly doubt his rates will go up do to theft. Mine didn't when i was hit. If it was something that was his fault maybe.

**** sucks...

There's two 2006 on CL now. But unless they change rim color / bike color and re-added the reflective side markers, it's a different bike.

That's a stock plastic color, not sprayed. Ironically his bike did start out life that color.

Thanks for keeping the eye out!
