I've been very close to dropping and crashing but so far I've been lucky to not let it happen in the 14 months I've been riding. so I'm a zero for now. I know my time will come eventually.

First time a lady turned right in front of me----from a left lane

Second "drop" I don't count because it was my stupid roommate "helping" me get my rear tire on who dropped it on the swingarm Dx

Third drop was 0mph. I was attacked by a rogue trash can. Basically I was parked on a hill, sidestand downhill, pulled it up and the stand flicked back, but there was a trash can about 4 mm uphill of my tail and tire. Basically didn't have the height/muscle to push it, the angle now was too much to get the side stand down, my one leg couldn't hold the downhill weight of the bike.

All this and what my boyfriend saw from about 6 feet away was me getting on my bike, looking down to put on his gloves, and then looking up and my bike was on the ground. Dx

Fourth and second "real" crash was going into a corner too hot at like 40mph and did what is probably one of the more epic ways to jump into a pile of leaves. Banged my knee, bruised the ego but after a new handlebar and paintjob it's behind me.

I've still never been a driving part of a car accident, though. When it comes to parking I'm good if I want to be but generally I don't care anymore because people expect women to park like ****. If it's in the lines it's fine.
May as well make stereotypes work for you because lord knows they're not going away until the joke's on them.

Been riding only month and a half and only a little more than 400 miles, but so far no crashes and no drops, unless you count dropped Buel Blast during stop at MSF BRC.

Since 0mph doesnt count, looks like ive dropped my NINJETTE 0 times My ninja 1000 has gone down once though, and i had 2 drops on the ninjette, once not putting the kickstand down, and once after a hard brakeing since a car pulled out in front of me. I got the bike stopped completely, but sideways. Once it stopped i just kind of hopped off it since i was about 6 inches from his door.

Since 0mph doesn't count, just the once, when I was still learning the absolute basics and wasn't anywhere near careful enough about how I did it. Still only cosmetic damage to the bike and none to me. I've literally dropped her three more times, though, all while pushing her from point A to point B without a leg over her. I really need to just get out of that habit, I guess.

Ohhhh this isn't going to be good.

That i can recall:

First Ninja (and a n00b)
coming out of a parking lot, got distracted by approaching car, thunk
Lost in a bad part of Reno, tried to make a U-turn on a side street, ran into pothole, thunk
Some a-hole passed me on a narrow double yellow road, pulled over to give myself a buffer, hit gravel, thunk
Coming down a rural road, hit a corner covered in gravel, panicked, and high sided! Bike totaled.

Current Ninja (and still a n00b)
Forgot to come straight into driveway, hit it sideways, thunk
Pulled onto a steep driveway into gas station, got confused focusing on cars vs myself, lost power going uphill, thunk
Coming down Ebbett's pass, turn sharpened more than I had set up for, low side.
I'm counting my one and only epic wreck at the track, so lowside again.

I think that is it. So, yay, not a Chief Derp!

*bows* Glad to be entertaining.

I do hate dropping or crashing my bike, but I know that its my own fault it happens. Only twice on each bike have I done actual damage that I had to repair. I take each as a learning experience and apply what I should have done then to any future situations that put me into similar positions.

If I count all my bikes I have ever ridden ? Infinity crashes lol

But I've only laid my ninja down twice . Parkin in wet grass and a surprise gravel trap haha

You wouldn't know that the bike is a ninja from looking at it cause the previous owner crashed it head on into a guard rail lol

I must have had this thread going through my head on my ride yesterday.

Almost drop #1: I was making a U-turn on a narrow road and I almost stopped with the wheel turned all the way to the left. I was close to the edge and kind of spooked myself into going slower than I needed to. I got my foot down in time and gave it enough throttle to keep it up.

Almost drop #2: About 1 minute after that I was making a left turn from a stop sign onto another 2 lane road. I was paying more attention to making sure there was no cross traffic than my turn. By the time I looked back to keep turning I noticed I was going wide, then noticed a very soft patch of gravel off the edge of the roadway, then noticed I was staring directly at the patch of gravel in front of my tire as I drove a few inches off the right edge of the roadway into it. I started to panic and first instinct was to grab a handful of front brake, but luckily I told myself no before doing that, stayed lightly on the throttle, and got back on the paved surface without incident. Here's a picture (I was at the stop sign on the left side of the picture, turning left).

Deer Canyon at Corbett Canyon.png

Is it too early to take the MSF class where I can practice on my own bike? In the first class they suggested to come back after about a year for the second one, but I feel like I could use some slow speed tight maneuvering practice on a closed course with supervision and guidance now. It's been about 5 months since I took the first class.

If you feel like you'd benefit from the class, take the class! Nobody's gonna be all "I'm sorry mister jeffb502 you need to ride around in traffic more before you're qualified to ride around in our controlled environment."

Yay! If my bad experiences help another to not experience them, then my work here has been beneficial. Glad you were able to recognize the hazards and respond to them.

As far as the MSF, the first class i took i had no bike, but another had their own personal bike. The second time I took the BRC, the instructor actually wanted folks to bring their own. If you feel you need more training, then by all means do it.

I dropped my ninjette taking it off the rear stand once. Forgot I was supposed to support its weight when I took it off the stand. Last time I ever do that while under the influence

I am quite talented at dropping my bike while not moving, particularly in my driveway. I don't really keep track of the times when I'm a clumsy idiot though. The sidestand on the 300 comes up much easier than on the 250 btw.

Got crashed INTO by a guy in a focus.... Ouch.

I forget how many times i dropped it trying to move her around the badly leveled yard in grass.... There was that one drop at the gas station....

But as these don't count, 1!

Since this is a Ninjette poll my score is ZERO but I have nearly crashed the 250 due to touching down hard parts. I have had 3 crashes in my 23 or so years riding on the street. I have had over a million if you count dirt bike!

Crash#1 1986 Yamaha FZ750 (first bike) High side off the grass and landed on my head. Taught me to always wear my helmet and slow down before entering a corner!

Crash #2 1990 Kawasaki Ninja 600 Off the outside of a bend into the woods. Kick stand had a bad spring and there was no safety switch. This was a used bike I had just bought for my then girlfriend and im glad I found the issue and not her. Learned to thoroughly safety inspect all newly acquired bikes before riding them!!!

Crash #3 1996 Yamaha FZR600 Kinda low side slide into a guard rail. The corner we had rode the weekend before was now fully covered in sand and I stupidly rushed into it and could not turn. I started to low side then stood up applied brake as I crossed the center line then turned in just before impact with the rail. I got so lucky! I put both the tires into the rail (which protected a very steep tree covered down hill) and the bike dropped on the throttle side. Just minor scratches on fairing and 2 bruises on me, I even was able to ride the bike home. I was lucky because there was no one coming in the other lane and lucky I went in tires first, had I hit front tire first I would have gone over the bars and down the hill into the trees beyond! I learned not to ride like a squid anymore!

I did nearly drop my Ducati while backing out of my garage but I caught it just as it gently touched the wall. That tiny little mark made me more crazy than any of the other crashes listed above.

So 3 crashes and an almost drop

1 crash
can't say much because I have no memory of it. I wish I had been carrying my gopro and recording.
I was told that the cars in front braked hard and the 1 car right in front of me lost control after braking and I lost control as well (maybe something on the floor made us not go straight), I ended up hitting a Semi on the right lane, Semi run over me and well that's pretty much it.

Huh? Are you Bruce Willis's character in Unbreakable? This happen recently because that's sounds crucial.

Haven't dropped it or come close really. Hope that doesn't give me bad karma.
Saying I'm a liar for not dropping it is a little weird....seems like an easy bike to not drop I guess
EDIT: Not saying it's not easy to crash because anything is, but how do you drop such a small bike UNLESS you are a pretty small dude/girl?

I did a wheelie in my mini-low side crash (this happened way in the beginning), it was awesome. Probably the only time I'll get that close to a wheelie, ever. I can laugh about it now.

I guess at that moment I did become the Unbreakable character. it happened on November 20 at around 8AM I was told.
I was also told I did get 1 broken rib but it healed during the 3 weeks I was in a coma. I do have somewhat double eye sight, normal about 20% of the time. Doc said is gonna take time to not be double sight, is that way because of the hard hits my head got and my brain was swollen. also my left leg (all of it) is sore, has been getting better. is going to take time to be completely heal
