riding my 125 on the mini track

Link to original page on YouTube.

See my 'Allsports Mini Motards' thread in General Motorcycling Section for more details right now my thumb is sprained and I don't feel like typing more lol

Me on my Suzuki DRZ 125 (bone stock w/shinko trials tires), first time on a track of any sort. If you want to see wrecks check out rounds 1, 2 and 3 on my YouTube channel

What a humbling experience

^ awesome, looks like fun. At 5:50 that other rider hit you, did they hit your hand? or just bars? They went for a loop afterwards

Looks like fun, that floor doesn't look like the best for traction though.

My thought too but for sure, never ridden on something like that polished floor.

It wasn't great but it was probably better than it looks. anyway less traction = more learning! can't wait for next month lol

Link to original page on YouTube.

went to the mini track again today. I felt a LOT more comfortable and a lot faster and smoother. my lines were nowhere near perfect or even respectable but they were a huge improvement from last time. I tried not to use the brakes, I think I cut down on braking by about 75% from last time, and I tried to use a lot more throttle in the turns (I was using like none..) and not chop the throttle.. lots to think about at once.

there were a few kids on tiny bikes.. two 12 year olds whose dad bought them each a set of race leathers and dirt bike when they were like 4 years old so naturally they smoked me, and the two guys on blue bikes normally ride in the next higher class, but it was cool to ride with faster people.

the important info: wreck at about 6.10

I wrecked 4 times again but hey, improve one thing at a time, right!?

You're looking good katie, your steering is much sharper and you appear to be much more confident on the bike from video. Your control has improved by leaps and bounds from the video of the last time you went

cheers mate

some guy my dad's age who I have never met before came up and told me he's never seen a girl looking so comfortable on a bike

I'm so glad I'm doing this on my dirt bike at an indoor track where I've wrecked 8 times and had no injuries and no bike damage! I can't imagine starting from scratch (track riding) on a real asphalt track with a 400lb bike........

If I were you I'm not sure if I'd feel insulted or complimented, it was definitely meant as a compliment though

You were also passing people this time

I've had the misfortune where half the people I catch up to have such god awful lines there's no way of knowing if it's safe to pass them or not

edit: I bet your smile was so big it could be seen through the helmet
