Nasty Nasty Nasty wreck (rider error)
She is so lucky to be alive! Rider error. Not sure what really happened, but she was inches from a head on collision with a truck.
Airborne at least 15ft up in the air. Nasty nasty nasty. NSFW language. Rider was recording with her gopro as well. I'll try to see if I can find that video. |

^ yep. Exactly my thoughts.
It looks like she didn't make contact with the 4x4. I expect any injuries she has will be purely from the drop from the sky to the ground and she went high, but not that high. I expect she was winded and may have broken some bones. Otherwise though she's probably ok. I've seen friends fall from that height on their mtb and they've been fine... well... nothing serious. I'm hoping that bit of broken barbed wire fence broke open on her bike and not on her. Now... I want to see the video where she goes back, faces her fears and and lands the jump.

That is a bummer. :\ Hopefully she wasn't banged up too bad and heals fast.
Wouldn't it have been just totally epic if she had landed the jump?

Winded = weird noises. Winded + panicked & confused = noises that Giger would have trouble dreaming up for an Alien movie.

Don't think she was close enough the the truck in front of her to try... Hard to tell, i know distance is distorted on a gopro.

there's a point beyond winded panicked and confused... a point where you think you're in immediate danger of dying... i like to call it the SHPWERGH! where so many things happen so quickly all at once you wind up executing every single possibility looking for an answer to the unanswerable problem you're a few milliseconds away from having to deal with and they all come out at once... several words combine and try to leave the mouth at the same time... you wind up having like a dozen trains of thought from the adrenaline and your "life flashes before your eyes" everything from how much it will cost you to what your family will think to "hey that's not what i thought it would be like" all at once but, SOMEHOW... they're all making their way to complete, fully formed thoughts that result in meaningful output... until they make it to your muscles. then it looks like a weird spazm... SHPWERGH!

In the original post ......The rider that hit the bank and flew was the BROTHER of the rider with the camera...as I understand it. It was posted originally on another site.
