New Member - Learning how to Ride

Purchased a new-to-me '09 blue Ninja 250 with 8 or 9k miles and going to learn how to really ride on this thing. Once I change the oil, clean the chain, get new tires, and have someone check the valves, going to terrorize the Bay Area back roads

Maybe I'll post up a ride and learn from other riders how best to ride this bike. I think we can all benefit from learning from one another

Welcome Mojorider! Have you considered taking the MSF Course. Even for a comeback rider its still full of nuggets.

Took the MSF course some time ago and have been riding for a bit, just new to the Ninja 250. I once said I'd never own a Kawi. Guess one can never say never

It's hard to beat the 250 package kawasaki puts together for the price. Besides Honda, it's the only other quality option in it's class. And with the honda being a new model, it's almost impossible to get one. I had always liked suzuki's myself, but they had nothing that seemed suitable for a beginner so I went with a kawi! So far, so good.

This 250 is a pretty good package IMHO. Only thing that is missing really is fuel injection. I like this bike since it is fairly inexpensive and a great tool to learn on

Wish I was a better wrench to do some of the DYI mods. Maybe next week I'll tackle removing the CA emissions stuff. Have some 003R/S tires coming in so getting one step closer to actually riding this thing (have owned it for almost 3 weeks now
