That's a good deal for people who need carbs, hell used fleebay carbs that aren't rebuilt go for $150-175.

and for that $150-175 (or more) , the ebay "take-offs" are a crapshoot
absolutely no way to know their condition until they are stripped and examined. I'd consider it quite realistic to add labor and all consumable parts to their cost MINIMUM...expect a rebuild....in worst case damage, parts missing/defective/corroded in place. Mine have gone through the proverbial wringer....split, thoroughly cleaned in & out, ALL consumables routinely replaced, circuits tested, fuel levels calibrated, jetting scrutinized/adjusted, etc etc etc....treated as if they were going on my own bike. Working on carbs involves a trust between owner and tech, I believe I've earned such a relationship with others. And now back to our scheduled program.... |
