Hello! From KY!

Hello, All!
I recently bought a used 2003 Ninja 250 that I am still getting comfortable on, despite having ridden ATV's and dirtbikes my whole life. I suspect this is due to a lowspeed lowside a few years back where I was a passenger. Thus far I love it very much.

I live in Kentucky, go to school, work, and take a lot of pictures as well. I am always for new friends and advice! (I am happy to offer advice as well.)

It has a bit of road rash from a low-side on the top fairings and muffler. It makes me feel a little more at ease that I am not going to be dumping a $4K perfect condition bike if, and when, I do while learning.

Welcome to the site, Amber !

Start with some pictures of your new machine.

Friendly advice you will have as soon as you start asking questions here.

I have a Nikon D3000. I don't post pictures online much or really at all; I even gave up facebook a while back. Most are of my niece. I was going to upgrade the camera, but decided to get the bike instead!

First off, Great Choice! I did the same.

I was doing the same as you, taking pics of my nieces/nephews. Naturally, it just grew out of that since I'm an "Artist". I love to take pics now. I want to get the Canon 5D Mark II! Again, great choice on the bike, enjoy and be safe.

I am growing out of it too, expecialy since I have "cheap" transportation to ride around and take pictures, just have to buy a tank bag!

He is a sexy pre-gen (including his road rash), but he doesn't have a name yet!

I'm glad everyone is being so welcoming I deeply appreciate it. I will start posting more, but for now I am just lurking mostly.

Great! Better a lurker then a stalker Also check this thread: http://www.ninjette.org/forums/showthread.php?p=517057

Tank bag: Depending on how you use the bike (be it long distances (150+miles), or local rides) your bag should reflect how and when you normally travel. I travel 180+miles at least once a month to PA and I do local group rides and commute. I end up filling my bag up on each ride because I like to be prepared. Most guys come with nothing on my rides and sometimes they regret it. I never do. I normally take rain gear, drinks, extra visor, and my camera. Just think about what you really would take or carry with you.

@nycsteve I had been looking around to find a tank bag, Cortech has seemed like the best option, but that will have to wait a while since police officers don't check for bikes in parking spots before backing in...

@csmith12 Blueberry pimple!? Nah. I was thinking David after a friend who passed (who would've love me on a bike), but that might a tad chessy.

@R1Chronicles I hope I do well. :-). I have had a ton of fun and learned a lot already.
