Thanks d00d

Getting her serviced tomorrow. Hopefully regiatered and insured. Then hoping to give her a bath, take that tank pad that looks like its been on the bike since 2005 off and not mess up the paint, slap new one on, etc.

Idk when I'm gonna have time to do yard work and wash the Escape. That car needs some love too. She's dirty and too new to be that dirty looking. Lol

That's still a very slow car, and the 636 doesn't make over 120hp. Don't get me wrong it's a nice bike, but 120+hp is after dumping some serious money into it.

Maybe at the crank it does. Mine dynoed 110HP at the wheels. Also the 120HP claim for my wife's Kia is at the crank as well. So it makes his direct comparison factual. I think Kawi claimed 125 or 130HP for the bike when it came out.

Bone stock, my 2013 dyno'd:
117.92hp at 13,500rpm
48.32 torque 11,000rpm

If anyone was interested, low power mode dynoed the following:
95.7hp at 12,500rpm
43.44 torque at 8,000rpm

I suspect fuel mapping and a full system exhaust would easily hit 125hp

Im talking BHP not WHP. My car is 120 claimed BHP.. so probably around 90 at the wheels. Thats normal. Even Scion TCs have around 120 I think, maybe 140. Most newer 2.0=2.4 liter 4 bangers are better and have like 160ish HP these days though.

My bike however is claimed to have 128.1 BHP sooo in BHP it has more, and its supposed to have 113 at the wheel, so still probably more.

I drive a 99 corolla. Yes it is slow. But its a normal car, nothing special. Our Escape has 243HP but still, the power to weight ratio is nuts. That was the point.

they claim 128. I looked it up when I got it.. I thought it was like 75.. I was so wrong. shiiiiiiiit. haha That dude didnt respond on the SME either...

Can I just take it out anyways? the FI light will just stay on until I get that but meh, itll stop trying to open and close and make that grinding noise on start up.

And my 06 dynoed 187 at 11,600. See how a different bike makes no difference?

Was just saying 120hp at the wheel of a 636 engine is easily doable without spending heaps of money.

That said, the older 636 had larger bores while the newer 636s use a longer stroke iirc. It looks like kawi rated the 06 636 at 113.8hp at the wheel. A properly broken-in engine and a full system exhaust alone should hit ab out 120 I'd bet.

Your a bit optimistic. I've only helped build a few (literally like 3) older 636's and a TRUE 120whp cost a bit on a $3K-$4K bike

Yeah thats is why I have a bike... lol. I need a decent safe car to haul my kid around. Bike, not so much... although when he gets a little older I may throw him on the back.

But yeah, @Vampyre I had it serviced and he said it was getting stuck so it stripped the servo motor. Ill take it out and get a used exhaust soon..

I put this tank pad I had laying around on... Not sure how I feel about it since it doesn't match AT ALL. but it was 99 cents! And its been laying around from my last Ninja...

The last one was super crusty and nasty so it had to go.

Pshh... the 1.6l in my 1995 Civic has 125 HP, a 2l should be more.

Btw, awesome bike I really like the old 636s.

For sure dude. 162 is a great road with a sweet view crossing the lake out towards foreman creek. Id love to take a trip up blackbart road and cherokee rd also, not necessarily on a SS though.
