let's see pics of how you mount your video camera

I'm thinking about getting a video camera to record my rides. I'm curious as to how everyone mounts their cameras.

Might try checking out youtube and just looking up Vlog camera setups. Most have videos up showing their setups which are usually helmet mounts and give you a POV cam kinda thing.

I use this guy because it's a solid mount and doesn't vibrate, but is also out of the way and I can just leave it and forget about it.

Here's my youtube videos so you can see that the mount is pretty steady and is in a good spot for keeping the wind noise down.

A lot of people really like those sticky mounts for GoPro cameras.

It's mounted to the side of my chin bar, but the lens is actually centered in my field of view.

I've yet to sort out the wind noise, I will be tackling that soon.

Anyone mount a GoPro to your helmet with a suction cup instead of a permanent mount? I've been meaning to but I can't figure out how to get the bracket's clearance low enough.

I might pick one of those up. Seems sweet. How exactly does the camera mount to it though? Does it come with hardware for that?

There's those slots in it. It comes with a 1/4" thing that attaches to the 1/4" receiver in your camera. If you have a GoPro, you'll need to get a 1/4" adapter for it.

NOTE: The pregen tank is short, so I had to cut off the front slot with a grinder or else the keys would interfere.

I'm not sure this will be a problem with the newgen because one of the pictures in the Amazon listing is from behind the windscreen of a newgen. I assume it will be just fine without modification for a newgen, but I'm not entirely sure. If it needs modification, that's not hard at all and I can help you out with it.

The other thing I was kinda annoyed with was that I had to buy 2 bolts that were the same as one that came in the package. 1 screw is the right length for my bike, 2 weren't. Again, I would assume that it works out of the box for the newgen. If not, the bolts were only a dollar

I see, the amazon link listing is pretty vague about how the thing actually work after you attach it to the bike. So I wasn't sure.

I have Contour ROAM. Really good imo, just ****** importing it to iMovie since I gotta convert.

Anywho, I attach it to the side of my helmet. And I have a suction mount if I wanna have it on the gas tank. Sorry, but no pics.

I might buy something similar to the guy that linked the Amazon one.

I have yet to find a good way to do a rear one so I can see my body position when I'm in corners. I made a mistake and got it too close to the side of my butt.

Yo, Sean...I see your post right before mine.
Here, check this camera mount and you'll understand what I was talking about on that goldwing thred:
In the never ending battle for truth, justice and the american way...here's how I carry my Kodak. It works perfect but you lose the use of whatever mirror you mount it to as long as the camera is mounted. Takes less then a minute, cost me nothing and comes in all kinds of pretty colors and can be used as a weapon to knock peoples eye out if you carry a supply of paper clips too.
Sound does not work too well.

Though handicapped by a single GoPro, I've devised a couple of mounting positions and here they are...
1. Flat adhesive GoPro mount on the front brake reservoir:

Recorded flick from that position -

Link to original page on YouTube.
2. Suction cup mounted on the rear seat cowl:

Recorded flick from this posit -
