New rider with a question

Hey all. I've been lurking here for a while, but today i'm about to check out a pretty good looking deal on a bike, and wasn't sure I should clog up general with my question.

I found this on craigslist

In my exchanges with the guy, he seems to have a solid mechanical background. He's selling because he switched to a touring bike. All the OEM parts are included in the price, and it still has a month left on the factory warranty. It's still quite a chunk of change to let go of, so I wanted to make sure i'm not missing anything obvious.

Definitely take a further look at that one. Chat with the owner a bit, take it for a test drive, etc.

Looks like it might be a good find!

I did! It is a 2012 250. I took a friend with who builds his own bikes, and he gave it a clean bill of health. The guy threw even more free stuff in, including a carb sync. It's about 1600 in mods, and was priced 200-300 below the rest of the '09 or '10 on CL. It only had 1,960 miles on it. I snagged it for 3,300.

Now I just have to pass my BRC, and I'll be out on the road.

I'd say you got a smoking deal! I sold my 2012 250 for quite a bit more than that at the end of last summer.

Agreed. Nothing else on CL even came close, and this thing hasn't been ridden at all. He also blew all sorts of cash on things i'd have never shelled out for, like an akrapovic slip on and a corbin seat. If I decide to sell this thing, i'm pretty confident I can at least come out even.

I live in Riverdale. Its about a five minute ride to the DC border.

Thanks! I don't think I could have gotten any luckier. The akrapovic exhaust makes this thing sound very nice, and the Corbin seat is ridiculously comfortable. They're both mods I would have never bought because of the price.

I would have loved for mine to come with a Corbin seat, our long runs would be much more easier on the day after!
