The seller probably just issued a refund since it is cheaper to write off $10, vs paying for return shipping of the broken stuff, and then sending out a new one. Time to take that money and just buy the correct bolt. Go to an actual hardware store vs home depot or lowes. Lowes tends to have better selection vs home depot, if that is your only option.

Oh, and how do you not screw up the threads on the swingarm if you were able to snap off the bolt head? Even with a cheap bolt, I would think the threads are messed up. Try and find a long bolt and thread it in from the backside if possible.

Oh, and harbor freight has a metric tap and die set that is decent quality. Even more so when you consider the price.

He had to refund me because he had no case, he sent the wrong bolt. I checked his rep and apparently I'm not the first.

I mean, maybe they got a little messed up deeper in, but as far as I can see with a flashlight they look fine. Surprising I know... But the bolts were very cheap...

We'll find out tomorrow when I try my new spools whether or not the threads are F'd.

Also I checked home depot, and ace hardware and neither had them. If I encounter another problem (which I don't think I will) then i'll look around again.

I heard shogun spools had some issues with pitbull stands (not major ones, just didn't fit perfect)

So I went with pitbull spools. Only ran me $18 shipped and they're delrin plastic so they won't show scratches like the aluminum ones do.

I'll review those too when i'm done.

What I meant was the refund and leaving you with the broken/wrong parts was easier than trying to get you the right parts. He would have had to do either one, and I've run into the case where the seller outright refused to issue a refund and demanded that the broken part be returned and then they would decide if they would do a refund or ship a new one back.

visa charge-back. this is a legitimate use case for it also. paid for something and seller delivered the wrong thing and wont issue a refund? chargeback.

Yeah, I try not to use those unless I have to. If they wouldn't have made it right one way or another after returning it, chargeback time (if Paypal won't do it). I've had good success with Paypal in the past. You just have to remember that Paypal has a 45 day time period to open a dispute, and most credit cards have a. 60 day period for chargebacks. I find that the Paypal dispute is usually enough to get the seller to fix whatever the issue is.

Yep, just use some decent cutting fluid and they work well.

Did you get the small one or the bigger one? I wound up getting the bigger one last minute. It was the only set I could find locally, last minute that had the correct size die for the rear sprocket stud on my R6. I hated spending $70 on it, but most sets that size cost well over $300. It sucked even more because all I had was a 20% off coupon vs the 25% ones I can normally find.

I'm very confident buying w/ ebay. Mainly because if someone has 99%+ feedback and over 30k ratings, it's safe to say they'll be reasonable.. Not to mention ebay protects you, etc. etc.

Update, I got my pitbull spools in and installed them (haven't got to use my pitbull stand yet since it's raining) but these fit like a glove!

The one side I busted the bolt on was a little tricky to get on, I had to spend a good 20 minutes "romancing it" taking it in and out (that's what she said) to get it to finally work it's way in. There were a ton of metal shavings in there and someone of them I couldn't get out. But alas, I got the bolt on there very snugly and am happy and relieved!
