I'm 19....I've only got one summer/fall of experience....I guess most of the young generation that rides wants 600+CC bikes so they can show off....luckily as a girl I can ride my 250 and be proud!!...but that doesn't mean I don't have my eyes on this

I'm 48, started riding when I was 20. I can conservatively claim 10k miles per riding year.

Kayla, in my experience, just being a girl and riding is enough for most people to make you "cool". The AAA guy that towed my bike once told me I had his full respect just because I am a girl and I ride a bike! Unless you're a guy, "size" don't matter

I was still 27 years old when I got the Ninjette in August of 2008 about a month and a half before my 28th birthday. I'm 30yo now and into my 3rd year riding it and at nearly 19,000 miles! Thanks for the flattering option that still lumps me with the 20-somethings.

Any girl that ride is "Cool", any girl that ride and leave me in the dust is "Super Cool", either way, definitely the "bring home and introduce to mama" materials,

Oh, and to stay on topic,

I'm 32, riding 2yr, and only 3month of canyon experiences (the rest mostly commuting)

I'm 45, just got my license after taking the MSF course over Thanksgiving weekend. Bought my 2005 Ninjette on December 15, and have put about 300 miles on it so far--hope to come close to tripling that number in the next couple of weeks with some longer trips.

As another girl on a bike, I'm surprised at how many people actually comment: car and truck drivers at stoplights, pedestrians, people coming out of or going into establishments where I'm parking my bike. Who knew?

I've been riding for ages, but the bulk of it was on a 1hp thumper.

The Ninja was a big upgrade. 33 hp is more than enough, even for an immortal like me.

I am 62 years old and I don't have much experience.

I love bikes that are frugal in cc's and HP's; which I have been riding and fixing since 1964.

My pre-gen Ninjette is among the best and more noble and enjoyable bikes I ever owned or rode (a two-stroke engine and 18" wheels would have made it a perfect machine for me).

Thumbs up Older riders

I just had my 62nd B'day in July. I started riding in my early teens, along with my sister, on my dad's 65cc Ameicmecia Harley. We had a "dirt track" at the house, complete with a banked turn...

Graduated to a Harley 250 Sprint which my dad gave to me. Traded it in, when it started giving us electricial problems, for the 350 Sprint. That was an AWESOME bike... joined the service and sold the 350. Inherited my dad's Honda 550 in 75 and rode it for a couple years and then laid off riding until two years ago.

That's when I visited my sister who had bought herself a Sporty 883 for her 50th. She moved to NV a few years ago and someplace along the way got a Dyna Low which she let me ride while I was out there. Got biten by the bug and with an 18 year old in the house wanting to ride I bought a REbel 250 so "he could learn to ride". My sis gave us both the tuition to take the MSF Basic Riders Course (she is a MSF Instructor in NV).

TAKE THE RIDERS COURSE!!!!! Even if you took it several years ago.... TAKE IT AGAIN!!!!

My son was "disenthuised" with the Rebel and wanted his own bike and he ended up getting a '09 250R.
He let me ride it....
bye bye Rebel.... hello...
a Black '08 that had 12,000miles it!!!
It now has 18,500 in 15 months and I'm currently trying to fix it up for touring....

Almost 21. Been riding about a year. I had a little break within that year though after I crashed my ninjette. Have been on non-motorized two wheels for as long as I remember. Hope to be around for many many years. I wanna get into track days eventually and possibly dirt riding.

34 years riding experience, started very young thats all I'll admit too ... lol. Had a bike or two every year of those 34 years, parked it for a couple years when I was younger (by choice) so -2 years experience.

I don't ride a 250, but currently rebuilding a 100cc which I really look forward to riding ...

I'm 50, been riding since I was 16, so that's 34 years. Lots of bikes: Yamaha RD 350, Honda 550 four, lots of miles on a borrowed Kawasaki KZ200. Then my Yamaha 550 Seca, Suzuki 550E, Suzuki GS1100E, BMW R80 airhead, BMW GS 1200, Yamaha FJR, BMW F800S, and Ninjette.

Still have the F800, but lately ride the Ninja 250 most of the time. I guess 250,000+ street miles total. Have put 11,500 miles on Ninja in last 9 months. Terrific and fun bike--reminds me of my RD 350 in some ways.

I'm 35 and I have roughly two and a half years of riding experience.

I wanted to ride since I was old enough to read. When I was in my teens I was never going to have a bike because my mom's uncle died on a bike. She knew that my grandmother would have had a fit.

In my twenties I simply couldn't afford to ride.

I can't really afford it now, but I'm not getting any younger and I wasn't waiting any longer.

It doesn't matter how old you are or how long you've had your bike... What matters is the miles under your belt. The poll is invalid...

For eg. I've had my bike for over 6 months, but don't have more than 1800 miles under my belt... I'm sure I'm not an isolated case...
