Starter Jet
I took my carbs off for winter storage, but decided to put them back on for a quick ride around the block, when I did the bike wouldn't start (odd because they worked perfectly fine a month ago, and I just cleaned them a month and a half ago), anyway, I tore them down and cleaned them, one starter jet sprays carb cleaner out the side of a shaft into the fuel bowl area, the other doesn't spray anywhere (even after soaking in carb cleaner over night and 100 psi), is it clogged, or is the other broke?

Not sure what you mean by a starter jet.
Can you print a carburator schematic, circle in red the spots you are referring to, take a picture with your phone or camera and post it here? Something is getting lost in the translation! But my first guess is you may not have hooked up the vacuum hoses correctly.

Ensure the intake/airbox boots are on both sides properly, especially the airbox side as they can be a pain in arse to see all the way around.
Good luck, hope it something simple.

The air boots are properly seated and secured, and I am running a K&N R-0990 also properly seated and secured.

Never hear it called that either.
I'm assuming it's what we usually call the Enrichener Pick-up. |

I would think you have one hellva blockage, Might need a deep cleaning heated ultrasonic, but I'm interested in @ducatiman opinion.

It might also not suppose to flow, causing the fluid to not go into the fuel inrichment circuit correctly. If someone could tare down their carbs and check it would be great. Also @ducatiman might be able to just tell me.

The jet was plugged, it should be fixed, putting the carbs back on the bike.

When it turns over it almost tries to start, jetting seems to be off. It always was a cold blooded bastard, I'll try something else later.

starter jets, enrichener jets, choke jets...whatever you want to call them
both carbs have identical starter fuel paths and should be clear..... using a guitar string of .015" (if memory serves me correct), the long "jet" (actually a pressed in tube) is about 1.5" long...the string should be clear to "bottom" ..where the orifice turns and culminates up at the choke plunger(s) the starter/enrichener/choke fuel path is only active when the plungers are pulled open, greatly enhancing cold starting. I consider checking and clearing the enrichener circuit (the entire pathway) standard carb clean procedure |

if you're confident you've cleared the starter "jet", but bike is still reluctant to start on choke (keep throttle plates closed while choking, btw) it is conceivable the 2nd half of your enrichment circuit needs clearing as well

Literally let the bike sit over night with the external fuel tank (jug) on, came back the next night turned the key, hit the start button, and she is running like a champ, warmed up faster than ever, and idled better than ever. Apparently, last time I cleaned and rebuilt my carbs I didn't do it well enough (Sorry Ninjette).

Hey guys, sorry to resurrect this ancient thread but I'm at a loss here. I am having the same issues as Honey and Ive scoured the web up and down...but to my question. My starter jet, starter jet tube also has an orifice toward the base of the tube that cleaner sprays through when i shoot it into the jet. i guess the question that was never answered was is this normal or should it be plugged. I have been cooking in the ultrasonic all day and blasting air through all the passageways so if there was a plug in there i have no way of knowing.

This email reminded me of my bike back home though, poor thing sitting in the garage without a drop of gas in her for probably over 2.5 years. But my KTM 625 SMC down here in SC is alot of fun too.
