Guardian Bell

Do you have one on your bike and if so how did you get it?

I have one on my bike and it was given to me by a very good friend.

I didn't know about these until now.

Thanks, Rick !!!

http://www.guardianbell.com/

"Legend has it that Evil Road Spirits have been latching themselves on to motorcycles for as long as there have been bikes on the road. These Evil Road Spirits are responsible for mechanical problems and bad luck along a journey.

Legend goes on to say that by attaching a small bell onto your bike, the Evil Road Spirits will become trapped inside the bell where the constant ringing drives them insane, making them lose their grip until they fall to the ground. (Ever wonder where potholes come from?)

Legend also has it that the mystery of the Guardian™ Bell carries twice as much power when it is purchased by a friend or loved one and given as a gift."

My mom and stepdad have one each on their bikes. On the Shadow it was down near the footrest, so when I borrowed the bike I made a game of getting that bell to ring .. A lot! My mom, on the back of the Harley, said she could hear it as I came around corners behind them.

You forgot the third option.

They are only for Harley riders who don't wear any gear, and prefer superstition to keep them safe. You ever seen anyone at the track with a stupid bell hangin from their bike?

I'd rather have a set of truck nuts on my bike, that would be kick ass.

Just given one by my boss's boss..

i wouldn't necessarily have gone out and bought one, but i feel it'd be bad karma not to install one that was given as a gift.

thinking it's going to end up being somewhat hidden just because there's not many locations to install one... maybe around the forks, or possibly somewhere near the passenger pegs.

My Mom keeps saying she'll get me one, but this would be my issue too. Have to strip enough off my bike, don't need to be adding more in.

- though it is fun dragging that thing. Audible lean indicator.

Momaru gave me mine and we installed it in front of the radiator, sort of opposite the horn mount. I believe his own is in the same place as well. Sadly he couldn't find a fox, so I have a lion (rar!).

My 7 year old son just got one for me as a present I need to get a zip tie to put it neatly on the Monster.

This is the second good luck charm I have from him; the first is a small piece of his baby clothing that I have in my jacket. I'll keep in the pocket where the keys are, so everytime I reach for the key I touch it and it reminds me that my priority is to get home safe.

so that's what those things are. i figured they had some kind of meaning but i never knew. i'm weird. i carry several charms... they are normal every day objects that should have no meaning, but i've kept them for years and they mean a lot to me now.

My friend gave me one a couple months back.

Haven't had any real incidents since installing it, other than a dude running into the street.
Causing the car in front of me to brake hard.

Ended up swerving around the car, felt the bike slip a little.
The bell jingled and my journey continued.

If I can manage to get my best friend on a bike, I'm buying one for him.
He's mormon so I figure if his magic underwear isn't abrasion resistant, the bell will pick up the slack. B)
