Great photos of a great new bike. Yours are better than the official Kawi ones if you ask me. I'm really liking the look of the all black bike.

Those turn signals are sweet.

Do you have any interest in trying these bulbs in those and the running lights next to the head lights? That would be sick, and would be more visible.

appreciate the comments! I'm glad I bought and learned on the 250 first, this bike is something else.

And hopefully the next shoot will be at a different location instead of my garage

I agree. They give the bike character. Just think it could be much worse, imagine if the bike had gsxr headlights.

What purpose does the hole above the headlights serve?

I always thought it was the motorcycle equivalent to a hood scoop on a car.

Pretty much. It's the highest pressure airflow at the front of the bike, and it's channeled right into the sealed airbox to produce a ram air effect. Doesn't do much at speeds that are anywhere near legal. But at 150 mph, estimates are from 5 to 10 extra hp.

You are correct - unless you are running above 100 mph there is no noticable advantage, but it feels like a different motor when in the power band above those speeds - cooler air really helps because the amount of heat this engine puts off is crazy compared to the 250R. Weather has recently gotten hot and the amount of heat I now feel around my legs is crazy - for a second I thought I might be in danger of overheating, but the temp reading was normal.

I love the look of the headlights compared to the others (minus the high end bikes) - Suzuki looks like a scooter coming at you - Yamaha looks like an insect - Honda just looks old - Kawasaki looks more like a bird of prey.

I had on my fender eliminator on for a couple of weeks when I heard the horrible sound of tires screeching behind me - I had no out so I closed my eyes and waited, but luckily nothing happened, but the lady was yelling "I am so sorry - I just didn't see you" as she pulled up to me at the next light. So I have put the ugly rear fender back on because in my mind it makes the bike have a "bumper" that people should see better - which I know is BS, the fender is not going to prevent anything. I mean hell, the bike is lime green.

Best looking color for this model year - I am still think a Kawasaki should be lime green, or at least have something lime green. It is the only time you can get away with a color that belongs on nothing else.

damn, and here i thought it was an extra form of natural air conditioning to keep people cooler on hot days. way to burst my bubble.
