Utah rider returning to the road
My father owned a motorcycle dealership, so I grew up with them until I was about 16, but never rode on the street.
Now that I'm 29, I decided to pick up a bike to get back into riding and enjoy some of the great mountain and canyon roads here in Utah. I've always been a "do more with less" sort of mentality, so I've always loved the Ninjettes. I've had the bike for about a month now and commute on it (short commute) and also do day rides up the canyons. I would like to start doing some light touring (overnight camping to National Parks in southern Utah). I have a couple good friends who are helping me out with basic questions, but I'm joining Ninjette.org to ask more specific Ninja questions. So getting started off right: Do you all have recommendations for a tank bag? I'm looking for something I can put my iPhone in as a GPS and see through the top and won't get in the way while riding. Low bar, but that's what I need. Just something similar to hold a water bottle, GPS/phone and a sandwich.Thinking about the Joe Rocket Hammerhead. |

Glad to have you join us! I've been thru Utah several times. For some reason I have fond memories of Beaver, just outside of St. George. It seems I remember something about oysters and Beaver, I'm a bit fuzzy, its been a while.

Bassman, I always head down from the northern part, so Fillmore and Beaver go together in my mind.

Welcome John!
Sorry, no advice on tank bags as I'm a backpack guy. But I do love your neighborhood; I grew up in T-ville and ran a route that went through your neck of the woods. |
