New England Newb!

Hey! Name's Amanda! I am in the process of buying my first bike. It is a blue 2010 Ninja 250. I am actually buying it off of a friend so I trust that it is in great condition.

Why a 250 you say? Why not get something bigger you say?? My first reason for that is, although everyone says that i will get bored with the 250 quickly, i figure it's nice for a starter bike, and better to grow out of a bike than to have to grow into one. Also, coming in at a whopping 5'2", i can already barely touch the ground on a 250 lol, so I'd rather be REALLY confident in my riding skill before going for something bigger.

I am from Rhode Island, and also VERY into cars. I guess motor vehicles are kind of a hobby of mine you could say.

I am looking forward to getting to know everyone!

Nope! No one here will ever question the pure awesomeness of the 250! It is in fact the best way to go. That bike is really forgiving unlike the bigger ones which will punish you for almost every mistake you make.

Welcome and Good luck!

Rhode Island is a great place to ride. You can go miles without seeing another vehicle (if you choose your roads correctly). I lived in East Greenwich for years. I think I've been on every road in the state. Plus I've ridden every inch of Big River Reservoir. Gordon Razee is doing a track day with Tony's Trackdays at Loudon in June. Get some seat time and then go to the Loudon track day with Gordon and the crew and you'll have a great summer of riding.

Hi Amanda,

I'm the same height, just bought some wedge high top sneakers (not really my thing) but they add 3 inches, so when I hop on my bike tonight I'm hoping I can plant my feet on the ground.

Have you tried boots with some height?

The fact that you are going with hightops does help, but in a crash, sneakers just do not hold up or stay on your feet very well. Over on the video section there are lots of crash videos, and it is a running joke to find the flying shoe.

oooh, that is pretty funny (not the crash part) I have enough things to laugh at myself about don't want to be in a flying shoe video.

Thanks! Boots it is
