Air horn install (Stebel Nautilus Compact)

Just wanted to post a few pics of my air horn install...

I took a few measurements from my 300 based on where I figured I could attach the horn and where I wanted it to mount up (away from wires, the engine and fairings), went to Home Depot and picked up some steel "corner bracing", I got lucky and it fit perfectly on an existing bolt...

The horn couldn't attach directly to the brace because of the size/shape so I used a piece of flat steel and some hard ware to attach it (with blue Loctite)...

After a few test runs it seems great so the next time I have the fairings off I will add an additional piece of flat steel from another hole on the corner brace just for extra strength.

Side view...

I purchased the Universal Plug-n-Play Wiring Harness for a quick and easy install, I routed the wires down the side of the bike to the battery...

All back together you can just see it through the fairing...

I didn't do a video, years ago when I did the same mod on my 250's I couldn't capture the sound well to show the difference. I would describe this as a small freight train though and worth the $40-60 investment to me.

Thank you.

On my 250's I bought a bracket sold my another Ninjette forum member, back in like 2010, I can't remember his name. It was a perfect fit and mounted it on the inside of the upper right fairing. He provided a bracket and bolt that mounted right up to an empty threaded hole. Maybe someone else remembers him/his name and could help direct you if he's still around.

You are welcome, not sure if he is still around but even if not you have some photos to go on for your install.

Ohhh, I love Ducati Monsters, some friends have em, fun bikes.

I hear ya (pun intended) on the hearing protection, my new helmet is pretty quiet so I'm good as is but it is loud.

LOL, put one on your track bike! In a battle to pass someone just lay on that bad boy.

On my PreGen I mounted it to the stock OEM horn bracket, just had to bend it. It peeks out under the front fairing facing forward, so the sound is aimed straight ahead. The relay is mounted on the backside of the bracket.

A worth while investment for sure, I would personally recommend it to anyone.

@Ghostt should the air horn be angled lightly? that way the air horn would be fighting less air pressure while moving? Just a thought.

With a little bit of cutting on the inside shield I mounted mine using the existing flange on the radiator.
