New rider in Northern VA
Hey guys,
Just bought my 2013 white ninja 300 from Romney, WV over the weekend. Still working on the break in process. Just over 200 miles on the bike from the weekend! Looking forward to getting out there and riding with some other ninja riders in my area! I have attached a picture of my car and bike on the ride home at a stop in Winchester for lunch. |

Welcome gibtzumich318
Just ride your bike normally, except stay away from the rev limiter until you have your oil changed. |

The rev limiter? The dealer told me not to go over 7000 rpms, but that is pretty hard to accomplish, especially for the ride home when in 6th gear at 60 mph I am right at 7000... He also said not to redline, which I dont plan on doing anyways. |

I do have a question about the standard headlights on the bike. I noticed from day one with the headlights looking at the bike from the front the left light is a full headlight, but the right is just a small one in the upper right hand corner. When flipping the high beam switch both full headlights are on. Is this normal? I assumed both would be on regardless.

one side is low beam and the other is high beam so when you are set to low beam the high beam side is off on high beam the low beam side stays on. The rev limiter is at the red line 12.5k so your dealer told you in one breath to stay below 7k and 12.5k LOL my dealer told me to stay below 12.5 until first oil change.
After you get your oil changer red line her and see what the rev limiter does. Just wait til after the oil change There are many threads here about engine brake-in. Do a search. |

I will have to check out that ride. The ride home from the dealership in Romney WV was nice. I took 50 most of the way into Winchester and then back roads to Front Royal and down into Warrenton. It was a glorious first ride!

Last summer I rode the bike from my house to a wedding in Richmond. I took the long way and stayed overnight in Staunton. My main route was route 250 thru West Virgina to Staunton, its a beautiful road full of twisties upon twisties, any of you that live in NOVA really need to check it out! Then I took the Blue Ridge Parkway and got a freakin nail in my tire and had to superslab it to Richmond before it went flat. |
