Hi,

I have actually been reading posts on ninjette.org for many years. My wife and I owned two ninja 250, one 2004 and one 2008. We had great memories with the bikes.

I was going to build the 2008 ninja 250r into a race bike, but the plan fell through due to other commitments in life. At the moment we don't have any bike in our garage, but I am sure we will get back into riding again, hopefully soon.

Cheers!

Welcome. Just watch CL - 250s can be had for next to nothing over the winter months.

I literally used to leave for work early and drive home the long way picking up scrap metal and other garbage. Between scrap metal and consignment sale and CL I made a bunch of money quick. $50 here $300 there and you will have a bike in no time !

You live in portland- the motorcycle scene there is cool from what I hear. . Do you visit any of the shops or local events>?

We have cyclegear in Portland. A shop called MotoSport Hillsboro is near where we live.

We used to live in the Bay Area. I went to quite a few track days when we lived there (Thunderhill, Reno Fernly, Infineon,..). Here in Portland we have PIR (Portland International Raceway). I have yet to bring a motorcycle there..

Welcome aboard. You can always go watch some local races at PIR to scratch that itch. If you don't mind a couple hours drive, there's some great racing in WA too. The 250 cup is pretty competitive around here.

Thanks! I did watch a 250R race at PIR once. It's the most-participated group of the day. It looked like so much fun!

My wife and I were lucky enough to catch a race day at PIR when we were visiting family in the area once. Pretty cool track.

PIR has very nice facilities too. Probably the best in the area. The two road course tracks in WA are probably more fun though.

Welcome bnj999. Be warned, reading too many threads on here will cause your desire for a bike to grow exponentially!
