Well it looks like I am most likely stuck with making the Chinese lock to work. Seller will refund me after I send it back but has given me the opportunity to get it working so he can probably have the others fixed with my modifications lol.

Today i fixed an outstanding issue Ive had with my bike for weeks. It wouldnt pull past 9K rpms any gear (except neutral). Found the issue was a pinched snorkel on the air box.

Sooo happy its fixed. Today I should also get my jetting kit. Cant wait!!!!

New pistons and rings in the old '92 ninjette, along with a freshly honed low mile cylinder.
Rear shock from a '12 to go in today or tomorrow along with '06 forks I have replaced seals and bushes in.
Old girl getting a new lease on life.

Stock pistons or did you bump up the compression?

Chinese ignition lock is working. Soldered in resistor and jumper wire. Might have to epoxy or JB weld this crap together so it doesn't fall apart.

Stock pistons, bought them last year before I stripped the engine.
Then found out it was bored .5mm oversize. No.1 piston and bore were marked bad so waited until I could find a decent cylinder.

Clutch gasket came in.

Now I need a new battery, though.

It's an internal filter. Why does it have a nut on top?

Maybe the bike has a nut on top, sometimes I think mine does.

Fitted shock from 2012 model, I see it lifts the rear a little, now to work out the correct oil level.
Destroyed one of the swingarm bearings trying to get them out to fit new ones, expensive excercise, ended up replacing the swingarm.

Changed out the clutch plates.....to find that the old ones still looked pretty much fine. Dx

However, had I not changed it, I wouldn't have found out that I was missing a bolt for the clutch plate cover and all the rest I could almost undo by hand! I was shocked. Probably explains where all that oil was randomly leaking from. They're all torqued down to spec now and I had to switch out an old fairing bolt for an oil screen cover bolt to stick that where the missing clutch plate cover one was.

This poor ****ing bike has so many wrong screws in the wrong places. A couple more and it'll be worth buying a new fairing bolt set. Got two ziptie mods on the front already.

Changed the oil and cleaned the screen. Oil was so dark and the screen was full of ****. He needed it bad.

A new pair of shoes!! (Again)

Destroyed the BT-45s, front got me just over 16k and the rubber was beginning to crack and peel (!), rear got me just under 10k - like 9400, and the center tread was so completely gone the shop guy doubted I'd make it back to Reno.

So, back to Pirelli Rosso IIs as those were the only tires in my size they had in stock and luckily they had both front and rear right on the edge of the display rack so I spotted them as soon as I walked in.

Props to 5th Gear in Elko, had me out the door two and a half hours after walking in. Great customer service and very friendly staff.

Pulled the tank to fix a corroded wire problem that stopped the bike dead in it's tracks tuesday forcing me to push it 6.5 miles back home to get to it to work again, which i was 4 hours late from a plug so corroded some of the wires and spades were green. There were also a couple of wires turned black from corrosion that had to have 12" of the wire replaced and soldered in they were that bad.

Keeping my fingers crossed all is well again, and i do not get stranded anywhere forcing me to push the damn thing unless i run out of gas. lol

I ran out of gas merging on an of cramp on the freeway. I am sore from pushing the bike to the gas station. I was picking up a speedometer cable from a zx6 and was testing out the speedometer gauge. Funny watching my gauge hit its face at 90 mph and still less than half of gauge left.

I ordered a new rear tire to replace the already new tire that got TWO holes in it and won't hold air with two plugs. AARRGGHHH! How two holes? I think I ran over a soldering gun tip.

Well, just went through my third upper fairing stay. This one was "new", bought it from Tyga. The fairings line up better on this fairing stay than the rest, but they bulge out due to me giving them some tough love when aligning the side fairings on the frame.

So either this third fairing stay is bent as well, or something else on the bike is bent. The the side fairings seems to be fine when on their just by themselves with no nose fairing though.

Now I have two "bent" fairing stays lying around the garage. Stupid crashes.

I lane splitted for the first time today! Stuck in Auburn traffic and was looking at a digital temp gauge reading 102*.

So I split to the front of the line to get moving again. spent the whole block chanting "please don't hit me, please don't hit me"

Go me!

The first few times are rather terrifying but it's so worth it.

I cleaned the carbs, which turned out to be pretty much unnecessary. They were amazingly clean inside. Everything was in tip top shape, plus one of the POs did me a favor and drilled out the EPS plugs.

Getting them on/off (especially on) the bike was orders of magnitude harder than actually cleaning.

Tomorrow: sync.

Just have to get the bike specific ones, the universal pads don't fit the 300 at all.

I ain't got time for that.

And it would have looked likr poop in my opinion. For the same price you can get the bike specific ones.

I probably would've gotten stompgrips instead of techspecs if the bike specific ones were available at the time. I definitely wasn't gonna cut them myself either haha.

beater 250 motor oil has fuel contaminated oil. Starting to wonder if I have stuck floats or bad float valves or that my short commutes to and from work have anything to do with it.
