Clip ons and suspension geometry

I have some clip ons coming in this week sometime. I plan to move the forks up the clamps a bit and install the clip ons on the upper fork body similar to Rebeln9tn11's setup:

https://www.ninjette.org/forums/showthread.php?t=74050

My question about this setup is: I know it will lower the front a bit and I dont want to lower the rear at all, Will the bike's handling change considerably? I know turn ins and the front end will be a little more twitchy to inputs and dont want to compromise the lean angle of the bike as a whole by "evening" out the bike by lowering the rear as well. Any input would be great!

If you use imgur to host your pics you can do an instant resize by just adding an s, m, or l to the end of the filename in the link. Examples:

If you dont like it you could try ex500 tubes. I think they arw longer and would swap over. You could try mounting the clip ons under the top tripple clamp. Since looks like you are going naked.

Slide the tubes up just enough to make the clip on's fit, I think you will like the way it handles.

You need to make sure your forks don't bottom out on the lower triple tree. Put a zip tie on the fork tube and bottom the forks out to make sure you have room between the lower fork tube and the triple tree.

So what did you end up doing? I just got a set of used Woodcraft clip-ons for my '02 and now I'm scratching my head wondering if I should use them or not. I'm tracking the bike.

I ended up installing them above the upper triple tree. It lowered the bike maybe 1/2"-3/4". Love how it turns in after the clip ons. I also upgraded to new gen fork springs, new maxima 10wt fork oil and new fork seals which dramatically improved front end handling

Btw, the forks never bottom out. Plenty of travel left. I am 145lbs if that helps
