Here are some photos, with the first headlight I tried, a Vrod knockoff. It didn't provide a good pattern or level of visibility, which is why I'm trying the GS1100E light.

I embarked on this project to remove excess weight from the bike, and managed to reduce it by about 50 lbs. Heavy items removed include most of the footpeg brackets, the rear subframe, all the bodywork, the battery (replaced by a 2lb Ballistic 8-cell unit), and a bunch of brackets.

The seat is from Legendary Motorcycles. It fits over a 1/16" sheet aluminum subframe that holds the electrics. The coolant reservoir is in the original battery box. The engine is stock, except for the Yoshi slip-on, Power Commander V and a smaller rear sprocket.

The rear shock is from Progressive, and the forks have Race Tech cartridges and springs. Tires are Shinko Podiums, which came with the bike.

Saturday afternoon with a buddy's Thruxton:

Here's a couple more pics of it with the current headlight:

Nice work, my friend. I am a big fan of seeing the frames exposed on motorcycles. (Still like the full-faired look, though). Well done.
