Bandit Sandwiched Between 2 Lorries

"Sh*t, sh*t, SH*T" ... ... "Sh*t"

"Sh*t it"

Link to original page on YouTube.

"There was no way I was gonna stop"

Again... it could be misleading video footage, but it really looked like he had plenty of time to stop.

Lucky dude.

At least he was ATGATT. Most UK riders are.

Wow! Not sure why that happened. Too much speed?

Looks like an older FZ6 with the smaller front brake calipers (they look to be the same size and power as the Ninja 250/300 front brakes). I had one of the early FZ6 with these brakes, they weren't that great, underpowered for power and performance of the bike. The revision of the newer FZ6s have nice current R6 front brakes - a huge improvement.

Better brakes might have helped? But probably not...

Heheh. ****, **** ****! -crunch, slide.- ... ****.

It honestly looks like he had enough braking room.

You think he was using the rear brake as well?

It looked like he was fish tailing towards the end, so probably.

I think if I got myself into that situation I'd have not aimed for the gap. I'd have stayed straight up and focused all my attention on that front brake. The second I slowed enough to avoid a collision I would have then gunned it out to the left incase any drivers behind me were equally inattentive.

If he was concentrating on the road ahead he wouldn't have had to do any kind of emergency response.

I know how boring motorway riding can be though, so it's nice to be reminded by this video that you still have to pay attention the entire time you're riding on the street.

Overconfidence + speed - skills = Bad

Nice quote.

Your formula was a little off though:

Overconfidence + speed - skills - attention = Lorry Sandwich

Each clip cept two so far are all the bikers' faults up to 4 mins...

2:03 , Go home sir, you are drunk.

You already have, Akima; those are old threads.
I did link those mainly for newer riders and in reference to the second video pointed by Løckøut, which is a succession of mishaps and bad accidents:

Oh yeah! I think some people get put of riding by those motorcycle crash compilations but it has the opposite effect on me. They make me so much more confident of my safety! Almost all the crashes in those kind of compilations involve some serious lapse of judgement on the part of the rider... actions that I'd either never take or would be unlikely to accidently make. So many crashes occur because of the same things:
* The rider isn't paying attention
* The rider hasn't left a suitable stopping distance between himself and some obvious danger.
* The rider is stunting... on the street!
* The rider is riding on the street at track riding speeds.
* The rider gambles with his/her life (ie overtakes on a blind corner)
* The rider plays catchup with a group of riders that are more experienced than himself/herself.
* The rider doesn't actually know the basics of bike control even though they are riding on public roads. I've seen two videos of riders who failed to take a really gentle corner at a really apropriate speed; they just didn't know how to turn their bike and ended up veering off the road. One of these riders was on a beautiful and expensive Ducati too! What a waste.

Oh... and when they do crash, so often they don't have all the gear on that they should have.

Probably completely off base but it seriously looked like he was going to try splitting, then realized "Maybe too tight... Yeah too tight... DEFINITELY too tight!!" Thunk

What i did notice though is when the truck's tires hit the bike and knocked him around, he easily could have been knocked into the path of the tires. There's another video showing the fatal consequences of getting too close to those tires.
