Lane splitting legislation 2015

My state isn't on the list, but I believe this could trigger a domino effect and eventually hit all states... Be sure to spread the word.

While not in my state, Tennessee is only about 1/2 hr south from me, hopefully it will spread here.

Not holding my breath for Jersey to do something like this any time soon.

I will hope though.

Somewhat limited version of a line splitting bill just passed WA Senate and is heading to the House.

This all is good news.

Cool! Thanks for posting that, Poul! So we'll be able to use the shoulder of the I-5 or 405 when it's stopped...

Most definitely, I did it one time heading south on I-75 just as one comes across the river from Cincinnati, into Covington, traffic was almost a dead standstill as always, it was a hot day in August, so I said, "F" THIS, and proceeded to split all the way to Florence, Ky

The only friendly ones were the truckers, everbody else was pissed to say the least, and a few tried to cut me off, total A-holes

I'm afraid even if it does become law here, cagers won't change, not one bit.

I hope some you guys get it!!! Then I hope it'll trickle down to other states. Knowing NJ, we'll be the last. But at least there's a glimmer of hope. Just a glimmer.

Can I call Tennessee's congressman even if i'm not a resident? I'd like to support it anyway I can, even if it's not for my state.

If it passes house...

The current wording is the leftmost shoulder on a highway only, which is better than nothing, but...

At any rate getting *anything* into law is a huge win, the wording can be amended later with much more ease.

I may just write a letter. I would probably have a better chance of being heard. Did it just go to voicemail when you called?

Been a good thread about this among the bikers at work up here in Washington. A recent amendment made it so you had to go on the far left shoulder though, lots of issues with that obviously so hopefully it will return to the original text.
