Somebody needs to jump on this.

If not I have a pitiful little pile of dirt that holds back a small pond I can get too easily.

I have one short on i may be able to get this on. The rest around me span the Delaware so not going to happen there.

what? I think your trying to make it harder then it seems. Doesn't matter which side you stand on, as long as your bike is on the other side of the grated bridge.

Not gonna happen for me. Both grated bridge in my area are rated at 55mph. Three lanes each direction. Sigh...

Only grated bridge I know of in this area is the Woodrow Wilson Bridge where I95 crosses the Potomac from VA to MD. It's 6 lanes in each direction IIRC.

Now that I think about it, they may have gotten rid of the grates when they rebuilt it a few years ago.

I hated it when i first started riding. Had to get over it quick as my route to and from work has them. Paying the toll to go over the rt1 bridge sucked... come to think of it rt1 sucks in general...

Don't put your life at risk for the challenge. I know around my parts you can find grated bridges where barely any traffic goes. Trying to make the challenge an experience for anyone who hasn't been across a grated bridge. If you can't get this one perhaps someone else can, else after some debate the challenge gets changed to make easier grabbings.

I bet road rash on one of these bridges suck. Just to confirm, grated bridges are made from metal, right? Ones that you can look down and see the water below?

My first experience riding on one was 10+ years ago. Tires so squirmish! Heck, even driving on one in a car gets your a little side to side movement.

Finally realized the secret is to be extra light on the bars and let the bike do its thing.

Ooohhh I got this one.

Conway Robinson State Forrest is just a few miles down the road.

If that's acceptable, next challenge:

Your Bike in front of a Cannon

Like one of these:

That I saw riding back through the Manassas Battlefield after visiting the State Forrest.

You can still play as far as I'm concerned. From reading through most of this thread for the last 5 years it has always allowed other bikes to play.
