New ninja owner and first motorcycle

My name is Chad and I purchased my black 2014 ninja 300 on November 6, 2015. I am 37 years old and I have wanted a motorcycle for over 12 years and just got one. I live in south Louisiana and I also enjoy hunting and fishing. If anyone lives in south Louisiana we can ride together.

Welcome Chad, here are just a few things to think about,

1.Get trained and licensed MSF Courses

2.ALWAYS Wear protective gear -- ATGATT All The Gear, All The Time -- including a helmet manufactured to the standards set by a government agency.

3.ALWAYS Ride unimpaired by alcohol or other drugs

4.ALWAYS Ride within your own skill limits

5.Be a lifelong learner by taking refresher rider courses, and advanced rider course A.R.C.

https://www.ninjette.org/forums/show...8&postcount=26

A.T.G.A.T.T. so I may ride another day.

Yeah. I took the MSF course and will probably take the intermediate course after I get some time on the road. Yeah, I will need some help with new motorcycle.

I have 3, almost picked up a fourth the other day, would have filled out the 3 generation collection hahaha

I also would have cleared out racer x's garage if someone hadn't done it for me

Just think of all the work and money I saved you. Besides if you had cleaned out Racer x's garage then you would have five and I would only have two.

Besides my kids may not have shoes, but they have motorcycles to ride.

I mean I have shoes with holes in them that have been duct taped together, I think I'm on my 3rd or 4th insole in one of my pairs

Finally got to ride bike for first time. It is really fun and I like how it runs and feels. Got to ride it to church and a hour and a half earlier this morning. Does anyone have troubles seeing behind them with the mirrors? I trying to find the right spot. Right now I have been putting my arms wide on handlebars and looking in between my arms.

I generally treat the mirrors as a tool to keep me aware of my surroundings, but not to tell me what is an isn't there when I'm going to change lanes. I haven't spent much time on the street on my Ninja, but on my CBR I have to tuck my arms in order to see anything. They're an anticipatory tool for me - an SUV is approaching on this side, there might be a gap in a few seconds on that side, etc.

If I'm changing lanes or for any other reason need to know for sure what's there, I turn and look the same way I would without any mirrors (e.g. on the track).

Yeah. I started bringing my arms in and looking around them. When I change lanes I been doing head checks. Put about 100 miles on it today. Can't wait to get it broken in. I just riding it at different RPM's and not staying at same RPM too long.

If I see a youthful person on a motorcycle in flip flops, is it safe to assume they're yours?
