Hello Ninjette.... I have been registered on this site for a while now and have been reading all of your informative threads for months now. Love the site!

I got my motorcycle license last year and was able to afford a motorcycle two months again. In RI it is mandatory that you have to take the MSR class before you can get your license. I took it with my wife and I passed no problem. My wife on the other hand got sick the last day of the class and couldn't finish it. It sucks but she is done with nursing school now and can retake the test this summer or next. Anyways, I had so much fun in that class. I learned so much. I have never legally ridden a motorcycle before so I couldn't wait to get my first bike.

I finally got my bills paid off and I got approved for a loan. My wife and I planned on getting a bike we both want so eventually when she gets her license she will take the bike over and I will get a newer one for me. I think that is fair. We ended up buying a 2012 Green Ninja 250r. We also looked at CBR 250 and a Hyosung 250. But both of us loved the Ninja.

So I have been riding for about 2 months now and having a blast. I commute to work on the nice days and suffer on the rainy days. I am really happy with my choice on getting the ninja 250. I have already noticed that I have made mistakes which I think if I had a bigger more powerful bike I would have been it a bad situation. I have a couple of friends that I ride with when I can get away from the wife and kids.

Anyways, I am glad I decided to buy a bike and I am having so much fun. Next thing on my list get some riding pants and boots. I have a helmet, jacket, and gloves.

There are some great roads in RI. Make sure you ride each one and report back.

Will do.. I have already been on RT 102 to RT 14 to RT 116 to RT 12 back to RT 102 which is a nice ride. RT 14 and 12 go over a reservoir very peaceful. Not to many twisties though.

Forget roads with numbers. In the northern part of the state there are great twisty hilly roads. Between RT 44 and RT 146 just explore and take anything that looks good. You can't get lost. Log Rd, Rocky Hill Rd, Tarkin, Colwell Rd.

West of Rt 44 there is Snake Hill and others in the north west border with CT.

South West of the Reservoir is Matteson Rd and Maple Valley Rd.

Down by Arcadia off Rt 102 is Plain Meeting House Rd to Liberty to Hudson Pond Rd to Falls River Rd and the water falls (part dirt road going up a twisty hill, which is great, but watch out for girls on horses) to Escoheag Rd. From Rt 102 opposite Plain Meeting is Sharp Rd to Weaver which great and runs over to Big River where you can ride Hopkins Hill to Henry Brown.

Going toward the beach there are many good roads too. Between 102 and 138 there is Tripps Corner Rd, Mail Rd, Glen Rock Rd to Punch Bowl over to Hillsdale Rd. Further south off Rt 2 is Shannock Hill Rd which is great.

You're on a bike, take every road you can. I've been on every road in Rhode Island.
